Restricted Area previewed

[ -> Preview]

A new preview of Restricted Area is up at Next Level Gaming, including what looks like a bunch of new screenshots.
Now that we are on the Diablo idea, let me use it to tell you about the gameplay. Well the camera work is very similar, and the mini-map and controls are all similar (why fix something that isn’t broken?). The stats and abilities work in a similar manor but are defiantly tailored to this specific game. I like that many of your powers are passive, giving you bonuses to powers while you focus on using your toys. Speaking of toys, this is one thing Diablo defiantly didn’t have, firearms. The game is set in a period, just a bit more advanced than Diablo, so whip out your shotgun, machine-gun, flamethrower and so on.

The graphics are of a caliber I have not seen in an RPG from this perspective before. I must compliment the development team for their efforts. The sound effects are great, with different environmental effect; I’m really looking forward to hearing the final version (then I might also figure out what the main character is saying). The visual effects are also quite nice, bullet casings flying from your gun, explosions, blood spurting from enemies and bullet holes in the walls.
Diablo-clone seems to be an apt description for this game, still, its German reviews have been positive and might be worth getting when it's released in English.

This is getting to be like STALKER with the unnecessary amount of previews. Still, though, I'd like to check this game out.

Looks like a futuristic Diablo/Syndicate Wars hybrid with facehuggers from the Alien movie...
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
