Troika closing down?
<strong>[Company -> Update]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... tle=Troika Games">Company: Troika Games</a>
Troika is possibly closing down, according to <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/01/28 ... html">this
rumour control piece on Gamespot</a>.
<blockquote><em>While many independent developers are enjoying success (i.e. BioWare,
Obsidian Entertainment), others are not faring as well. This week, word
surfaced that indie shop Troika Games, which was founded by several
former Fallout developers and Interplay castaways, had fallen on hard
times--so hard that, by some reports, it was closing its doors. So
GameSpot went to the man himself, co-CEO and co-founder Leonard
Boyarsky, to find out what's what. Boyarsky then gave us this cryptic
answer: "We are basically perusing some options...after the beginning
of February, we'll be making a statement." So, for now, they're still
in business. But with February less than a week away, that could change
soon.
</em></blockquote>
I thought Vampire sold pretty well, actually? I guess we'll see in a week or so if they release this statement.

Vampire was buried by bad word of mouth. And rightfully so, it was a lousy game and concept. I mean, it was good that they decided to open up their market a bit from hard core RPGs but Vampire wasn't really an answer. Hell, their first indication should have been the tepid response they got from even the most devout fans of their company. Best of luck to all of them. I hope Bethsoft jumps on it and picks them up or better yet Pandemic decides to finally start making RPGs. Pandemic = 0wn4ge as far as I'm concerned. but that's just a silly fantasy.
edit: HEY COOL MY WIFE'S LEGS ARE STILL MY AV. ROXOR!

I actually liked Vampire. It was a good FPS with some great story. Not quite an RPG but a shedload better than most.
I thought it would've garnered enough attention to warrant Troika surviving. I mean, after ToEE (which was a lesson learnt) Vampire had few bugs. Except for stupid people who were trying to play it on their four year old laptops.
