Two new Auto Assault interviews

The average-looking MMORPG <a href="http://www.autoassault.com/">Auto Assault</a> has been previewed in the form of an <a href="http://www.autoassault.com/news/2005/02 ... >interview with project Lead Scott Brown at GameMethod</a>, and an <a href="http://www.gamebunny.com/auto_assault_c ... >interview with Senior Developer Ryan Seabury at Gamebunny</a>.

From GameMethod's interview,

<blockquote>
<p><em><strong>GM: <em>Auto Assault</em> is part of the next generation of
massively multiplayer games that incorporates scripted missions in
addition to traditional multiplayer combat. How do you receive missions
in the game? How does the game integrate these missions into gameplay?
Will missions varying depending on race and other factors? How many
more questions can I ask and get away with calling it a single question?</strong></em></p>

<em>SB:
There are a variety of familiar and new mission types which you will
receive from various NPCs throughout the game world. Each mission can
have multiple objectives and rewards. Each mission is hand crafted to
tell a story and will reveal both the past and present of the <em>Auto Assault</em> world to the player.

</em></blockquote>
If this is true, it's a good sign. One of the things I like about WoW
is that each mission is unique, and I haven't come across a randomly
generated quest yet, so it feels like a single player game.

This from Gamebunny:

<blockquote>
<p><em><strong>Could you
elaborate a bit on the Jumping and Racing missions you've mentioned
elsewhere? These sound potentially very exciting and somewhat different-
which is usually a plus.

</strong><strong>
</strong><strong> </strong><strong>

</strong></em>
</p><em>

Ryan
Seabury:

I'm trying to think of specific examples we've mentioned elsewhere, but I
think what you might be touching on is the advanced triggering and layering
tech that exists in </em><em>Auto Assault.&#160;
Our mission system, layered instances, full physics simulation, and
destructible environments allow us to set up an infinite variety of
scenarios, which can obviously include some things you will have never seen
before in MMOGs.</em></blockquote>
Racing missions sound... different, I guess. Though I still can't get
interested in this game, post-apocalyptic or not. Beta signups were
opened yesterday, so if you're curious about the game, you can <a href="https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/playn ... p.pl">sign up here</a>.
