New S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Video & More!

Post by Europa13 »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... .A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl">Game: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl</a> | More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... ?title=GSC Game World">Company: GSC Game World</a>

Over at <a href="http://stalker.myexp.de/en/index.php">Oblivion-Lost</a>, they've got their hands on a new <a href="http://www.stalker-game.com/">S.T.A.L.K.E.R.</a> video, for your viewing pleasure. The <a href="ftp://ftp4.extreme-players.de/stalker/reality.rar">54.9 MB video</a> contains some real-life footage of Chernobyl, among other things... So it should be fun!

Also, they've posted some information on the man behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Soundtrack, <strong>Markus Holler</strong>...
<blockquote><em>"I received some samples from the developers. It was quite a wild mixture of hardcore metal and electronic sounds. And, frankly, that is not my style. The music that I submitted, however, convinced GSC Game World"</em>
</blockquote>Metal and Electronic aye? Could you expect anything different considering the genre? On a side note, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. For those who don't remember me, Europa13, I was involved with the Fallout extreme website way back in the day, before its closing and have been a member of the community since its conception. I've been away for awhile thanks to the Army, but now that I'm a civilian again, I find that I have more time. So, I'll be looking forward to contributing whatever I can to DAC.

Is the link to the video broken? Are there any other mirrors?

Edit:
".../ It was quite a wild mixture of hardcore metal and electronic sounds. And, frankly, that is not my style. The music that I submitted, however, convinced GSC Game World"
What music did he/she(who is this quote from?) submit...? I hope its not some type of MTV gangster rap or anything like that. That Godspeed... bla bla Emperor-band would fit quite nicely as a soundtrack for STALKER... in my opinion anyways.
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

The video was interesting... I liked how they were able to recreate the actual site within some level of realism. The music was... Different... Overall, it was somewhat impressive, very dark if nothing else.
