'Baldur's Gate' is aRPG. Morrowind sucks. So does Fable, though I haven't played it(I am SO evil). KOTOR is Star Wars which disqualifies it instantly. And Jade Empire must be pretty new because I aven't heard about it.LlamaGod wrote:which are either action games or barely RPGs.MrSmileyFaceDude wrote:Japanese ones like Morrowind, Fable, Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire?
Besides, 5's not much for every Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Suikoden or other shits.

There is quite a few of Western RPGs for consoles but most of them suck, and guantlant type hack and slash dont count.
The only reason there has been western RPGs on console lately is because of the XBAWKz, which is mostly PC title type games. Plus the fact you dont have to compete with JRPG on the xbox because no one makes them for it LAWLALAW

What this forum is saying is that Fallout is the only RPG that is not Japanese and counts as a real RPG. Everything else is shit with a few exceptions. That is why this place is a Fallout-community...?
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

I don't think I would buy any console with a title called "Fucking Mario" available for it.ExtremeRyno wrote:I have all 3 consoles. Get the GameCube just because it's got the simple yet addictive games like Super Monkey Ball, and fucking Mario.

Oooh, I get you now. For some reason I just couldn't grasp it. even after I used the dictionary
Sure, game CAN suck not being an jRPG, but...
The thing is that ALL RPGs suck in a sense. Because however realistic they try to be, with dialogues and followers leaving you and 34 ways to do each quest and shit, it all comes to combat and these damn hitpoints, "was hit in the eye for no damage", and turns which are goddamn stupid too, because I don't think swordfight cosists of repeately stabbing each other(Hello, Arcanum and BG).
Then there come jRPGs.
Which have NO quests, NO NPC interaction, and all that's left is combat and occasional reading dialogues. And I'm sure you know what I'm getting to - the combat is the same as in normal RPGs, or even worse, because, EXAMPLE: In Arcanum, you can spot enemy from afar, enter combat and shot his head off, and when he has more than one, you have 2-3 turns to shot rest of 'em. In jRPG, you can shot enemy, and then he will do jump which puts Michael Jordan to shame, put axe in your head, then jump back. WEEE! And I won't even talk about things like summons, when your enemies are conveniently waiting for you, or 'random encounters', or the political correctiness(Is there such a word?), or infantilism, or...
...so, uh, whut we were talking about again?
