<a href="http://www.rpgdot.com">RPGDot</a> has gotten word that <a href="http://www.silver-style.com/">Silver Style</a> plans on releasing an extended version of the German edition of <a href="http://www.the-fall.com/e/index.php">The Fall</a>.
<blockquote><em>Thanks
to Andy from YiYa.de for letting us know that they have posted some
<a href="http://www.yiya.de/cgi-bin/np/viewnews. ... x">info</a> about the German Extended Edition of 'The Fall'. The game is going
to feature two new characters, no bugs (ambitious!), two new maps
including a dungeon and new quests, new easter eggs, some new voice
acting (new actors and HQ recordings), mountable vehicles to accelerate
travel, improved map navigation, improved textures for characters,
buildings and landscapes and new character portraits.
Silver Style's Carsten Strehse is quoted as saying that players of the
original retail version will be able to download all this new content.
</em></blockquote>A free expansion? Can't argue with that.

sometimes the SSE guys clean up their boards, so posts related to the german versions might be deleted - see it how you like...
german version: 1.7 open beta testing running
1.7 final might be out end of this week
Koch Media/Deep Silver (german publisher) announced an "extended edition" selling from April 29 on. Carsten said it should be the 1.8 Version, all bugs cleaned, 2 new maps incl. dungeon + new Quests and fights, new eastereggs, complete overworked speech (some new speakers + best possible output quality), journey with vehicles (means over mapbounds), leaving maps independend of screenboarding, better textures for chars, buildings and landscape, all portraits reworked or renewed. Also some other things he didn't talk about.
This extension is freely downloadable for TF owners, at Koch u should get a CD with ext. In the shops TF + extended will be at nearly the half price to TF. i paid 48 Euro, amazon anounces TF + ext. for 27 Euro. I think there will be a 1.8 open beta test too.
Carsten also said the english version is not! the same as above, they changed things for the US market to meet their different gaming approach.
He doesn't say when its out or which publisher. Someone in the english forum said it should be out in South Africa (english) in may. Also there will be a russian language release by Russobit M publisher at that time, which should be version 2.0 (according to a posting made by Carsten).
worries, worries, worries...
To do a user translation of the german version will probably take as much time to do as the official english release. Those who posted for help doing this didn't answer any offerings by PM or mail...
