A Czech interview with the intro and credits composer for <a href="http://www.stalker-game.com">STALKER</a>,<strong> Markus Holler</strong>, is <a href="http://stalker.bonusweb.cz/clanky/rozho ... >available at Bonusweb</a>. Here's the translation, courtesy of <a href="http://stalker.myexp.de/en/index.php">Oblivion-Lost</a>:
<blockquote><em>Q1) Hi Markus. At first, we would like to thank you for your time.
Classic question at the beginning. Who are you and how did you learn about the computer game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl?
My Name is Markus Holler, I live in Bingen / Germany and I composed the music for the intro and outro of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Q2) Why did you choose the Czech National Symphony Orchestra for recording
your music? (Editor's note: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was recorded with the FILMharmonic Orchestra Prague.)
As it was sure that we'd get a real orchestra to work with on the
music, we turned to people we had already worked with before. Due to
the great recordings for the Merregnon 2 Soundtrack (<a href="http://www.merregnon.com/" target="_blank">http://www.merregnon.com</a>)
with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Thomas Böcker (he's the man who
pulls the strings) organzied the recordings with the FILMharmonic
Orchestra for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., while I was busy with composing the
music. The FILMharmonic Orchestra (consisting of the best players from
Prague
Symphony, Czech National Symphony etc.) is very experienced with
recording music for games - e.g. Splinter Cell, Brothers in Arms and
EverQuest II have been recorded there.
Q3) Can we expect any fast music or something more slow and how many songs did you compose?
I wrote two tracks - intro and outro/credits in a total length of almost 10 minutes.
Q4) Is there any main theme song? I mean song which appears when something important is to happen?
There is definitely a main theme, yes. But I'm not involved in composing the
in-game music, so I can't say anything about the use of the main theme there.</em>
</blockquote>
I can't think of much to say, apart from what's been said before: the game feels like vapourware.
