Restricted Area's story isn't too complicated.
The basics run a little like this: there is a weak one world
government, which is actually being manipulated by various
mega-corporations who hire outcasts of society to do their dirty work.
This is where the player comes in, taking odd jobs and getting them
done. The immediate goal is to earn enough money to buy new weapons,
armor, and hookers. But you have to be careful, as each mission you
take costs a transport fee.

Well you actually pay for transport and not mission it self. Its same as you have to pay for ammo and guns.

Just what happens if you go broke and cant pay the transport? Your forced to start all over? :?

No you just have to pay a % of what you make on the trip, so if you make nothing you pay nothing, but if you make $100 and you’ve agreed to pay 25% the pilot gets $25. Play the demo :p

So... you'll have to pay the pilot 25k if you find 100k worth of PHAT LEWT?

It seems somewhat silly. So the pilot gets 25% - it means nothing, since you don't have options anyway. A % reduction of loot? Just reduce the drops and spare us this shallow illusion. If there were alternatives, and a fee you have to pay up front so you have to earn some money or the trip was a failure, it would mean something.

It's really sort of sad, in theory it would be possible to create an Action-RPG with Diablo-mechanics without also making it horribly minimalistic, linear and so unlike what an RPG should be like, but if anyone's done it I haven't heard of it.
