Carsten Strehse, Lead Designer for <a target="_self" href="http://www.the-fall.com/">The Fall</a>, has written a short update on the status of his game's release dates:

Some info for my non-German friends. :)

The Extended Version of The Fall has gone Gold. The release will be
at the end of April. The EV includes two new maps, a lot of new
features, quests and characters, better graphics and some new voice
actors. Of course all that additional content is also included in the
US version.

The release in Russia will be somewhere in May. That's quite sure now.

Regarding the release of the US version we have no fixed date yet.
It's also a matter of marketing and distribution not only of
development. From our point of view the most important thing is that
the product is perfectly polished at its release.

If they had released the "extended" (read: FIXED AND FINISHED) game first, then there wouldn't be all the hate for them. They made everyone pay to beta test their crap for all this time.

I'm hearing mostly good things about the game now, and people who only played the latest version seem to enjoy it. But you can't trust foreigners. If the game isn't in the US it might as well not exist.

I got the German version and while I couldn't understand alot of what was going on, I wasn't completely impressed.

This shit about "polished" is bullshit, they've released, and had 2 patches now... Now they want a "platinum release" or whatever. I don't think they mean to build up so much angst, but I'll be god damned if they aren't accomplishing it..

They've definately had more than two patches, Mutant. I'm still sort of interested, but who knows if it will get an english release, and whether the translation will be decent.
