So game Genie on wgens. How the fuck do you get it to work?

Just like the room says. I recently aquired an emulator and splatter house 3. I beat the fuck out of it in 30 minutes. Then I figured for shit and grins, I would use the game genie and some cheats to see what the game is like with the good ending. Anyways I get the codes enter them, highlight them and start the game and so far no dice. The codes don't work and the clock still counts the fuck down. So now my question for any of you folks here on DAC, do you folks know how to get the damn thing to work?

The game genie program comes with Wgen v2.11 and I can't get it to work. And Duck and Cover it is DaC.

Point at the car, press & hold lmb or rmb (probably lmb) and choose the backpack icon, and then you just find the fuel in your INV and use it. voila.
