Stealing the Power armor chip

Post by Strap »

i found that the easyest way to steal it was:

to have a human NPC in your party (Ian)
be able to sneak into Rhombus' room during the day (hes outside)
sneak in, close the door behind you
open the sqeaky locker, steal the chip, and then give it to Ian.
now, walk out and dont talk back to Rhombus

if everything went as planned, you got kicked out of his room with only a warning, and you can steal the chip off of Ian (he wont mind)

just thought that was kinda easyer than really sneaking

I found that talking it out of the supply guy is a lot easier. :)

What you can get your NPC's to sneak into places? I didn't know that how do you do it?
Is it they fear the pain of death or do they fear the joy of life?
Life is only an outer layer, for reality is only realized by the insane.

I don't really think that "sneak" is a good word for it. They do have a tendency to go through doors, even locked ones, however. Unless he's talking about that, I'm sure NPC's cannot sneak.

Easiest way to get it is from Micheal. Just say something like "Ordinance needs it or it will be my ass"

Save right before you talk to Michael... sometimes he says yes, and sometimes he says no... but that is the easiest way to do it.

Better yet, just go rescue the initiate in the Hub. Talus will give you one, if you are a decent person.

I've got 2 pairs of power armor. One hardened and one normal. No, i don't carry it myself. That's what mules are for. For some reason they have names, talk, and they shoot, badly.

But you will be left with the guilt of betrying your friends and stealing from them!

(Never mind, I just rememberd that I killed Ian because he wouldn't stop shooting me in the back)

Yeah, Michael is the easiest way to get the motivator. Would be easier if he wasn't so high strung about his work.... ANd the second easiest way is to go kill those wusses in Old Town.

Ian? In my games that sucker usually dies by the time I off Hightower in the Hub. Either by the hands of my enemies, or mine. Heheh, first game I took my hit money, bought an assault rifle, and "tested" it out on Ian point blank. That'll teach him to shoot me in the back...

LMAO
Yup... that'll learn him. ;)

Rescuing the guy from the Hub doesn't always work, though... I still had to go through Michael to get the chip.

Yeah, I got that some times. If you didn't talk to Talus in the right order you couldn't get it or soemthing.

You can always just kill every one and get two suits from the supply room....

I bet you guys don't necessarily play the good guy. Talius knows whether you are murdering scum or a upright hero. So play nice boys.

Talius gives you power armor if you are a decent guy. You can just kill those mutants in necropolis if your karma is too low.

That's probably what did it then... my karma has remained around 5. ;)

Ya. I looked at a walkthrough and you need a karma of 15.
That is pretty low. Considering I have 150. HA!

Go on a supermutant killing spree. Not sure about killing ghouls, though. Might as well try.

Just Seth and the aggressive ghouls (who attack YOU first). Leave the underground ghouls alone, they're goodie goo.

You? Boring? Naaaaaaaaa. ;)

You have to be good to get it from Talus? Screw that! Just kill them all and steal it! At least that way you lose about three million karma, and it's easy too.

I was just saying.... that if your PC is a dumb combat brute, this would be much easyer due to the lack of People Skills..

as long as you can get in (stealth boy maybe) and steal it, you dont have to waste your earned Items on more power armor.

i was just sayin'! come on, i just wanted to post it

and Btw, npc's dont really sneak, its like they are non existant, exept in FO2 ("I dont want that stinkin' mutie in here!")

ok then..

Give me a break. All the stuff that Talus offers is easy to get from other places. Well, i found Super Sledge in Jake's store, Rocket Launcher was there too. I'll bet you can find all the stuff he offers at Gun Runners or Jake's.
