Hellgate: London at 1up
<strong>[ Game -> Preview ]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... e=Hellgate: London">Game: Hellgate: London</a>
<p><a href="http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3141562" target="_self">1Up has previewed Hellgate: London</a>, and have some reservations:</p>

<p><em><span class="bodytext">OK, so we're a little fixated on the
near-total lack of a third-person
view (it does switch up during melee combat), but it implies a somewhat
deficient generosity of spirit. Gamers enjoy seeing their developing
characters kick ass--or at least they like the choice of whether they
get to see that--and if success in the game is going to boil down to
dice rolling instead of twitch skills, why not let gamers see something
more than their guns' brilliantly colored light beams smack a demon
down during that dice roll? Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines made it
work (more or less), and that game did depend on twitch skills for
success.</span></em> </p>

<p>They have a point, I think, but as I've said before, collecting
uberloot in a singleplayer game kind of seems a bit stale after playing
a MMORPG. </p><p>Spotted @ <a href="http://www.bluesnews.com">Blues News</a></p>

Me too! That is why I don't comment in threads regarding it.... ... Oops!Killzig wrote:ZERO INTEREST IN THIS GAME. Gameplay looks boring. PUH.
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
Zombies, demons... what next, Hell Knights?
I get the impression it's just another doomish FPS disguised as an RPG. Character development and gun improvements doesn't make it an RPG. Also, a apocalyptic London doesn't look like an interesting setting judging from the screenshots/video. Dark and gloomy underground tunnels? We've seen those before. I hope they'd focus more on a captivating story with devilish plot twists and puzzles instead of mowing down hundreds of hellspawn. That tends to get boring after a couple of hours.

Seriously why do you guys even cover this game? Nobody here (besides me) is even interested in the game, so like AA, really, what's the freaking point? Just because NMA covers it doesn't mean you have to follow in their footsteps.
As to the idiot who says London doesn't have any tunnels...
I don't know why everyone here bitches about a game they don't even care about.

Go buy a console. Who gives a rats ass about plot twists and retarded puzzles. Obviously this game isn't for you.I hope they'd focus more on a captivating story with devilish plot twists and puzzles instead of mowing down hundreds of hellspawn. That tends to get boring after a couple of hours.
