First official Land of the Dead review
<strong>[ Film & TV -> Review ]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... title=Land of the Dead">Film & TV: Land of the Dead</a>
<p>The <a href="http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/review.php?id=459" target="_self">first official LotD review is up at Bloody-Disgusting</a>, and the
conclusion is that it has some let-downs in the plot-area, but the good
outweighs the bad. There are some spoilers, so here's a non-spoiler bit:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>
But enough bitching, this movie is still a flippin hoot of a good time
and the zombies [minus the hero zombie] are such a treat only Romero
could have given us. I think the first five minutes are easily the best
of the movie, having new Romero zombies grace the screen for the first
time in 20 years gave me shivers. They are so incredibly creepy and
realistic. Some are puppets/animatronics and the others are humans in
make-up. The ones that are human all walk like a Romero zombie (minus
hero zombie) and give us the real reason why Romero is the zombie king
and always will be. These are zombies ONLY Romero could do. I loved the
amount of practical effects Greg Nicotero and his KNB crew used in this
movie- I think I even caught a scene shot in stop-motion!!! One
animatronics zombie was as bad ass as the one on </em><em>Return of the Living Dead
and the amount of blood was ridiculous for a R rated movie. People are
torn apart from the inside and out, and the zombies feast like there's
no tomorrow- I was giggling like an eighth grader all over again during
numerous attack scenes. It still was a shame they had to throw in some
CG effects because they came out sub par and were very noticeable- but
at least they were used in some very unique and clever ways (some sweet
surprises await you!). </em>
</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Lots of blood is a good thing.</p>
<p>Also related to the film is <a href="http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/index. ... e=newsfull" target="_self">this statement</a> that says Romero is
interested in having a whole new line of zombie films if LotD does well:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>"The original conceit
for this script was that it would start, if successful, a new cycle of
George Romero Zombie films. We talked about that even before the script
was written. Not in the way that years pass between Night, Dawn and
Day, but in the sense that this film establishes a new set of
characters, slightly different world, you can go from chapter to
chapter, from Land to a new one and a new one, and taken as a whole,
the new films, would be one big story. Obviously our hope is that, that
will happen."</em></p>
</blockquote>
<p>So, go and see the film to support this idea.

I cant be bothered spaming today so im goina say something about the movie
I never heard of this Romero but i expect from what it say's he's kinda good at this sorta thing, so i guess it might be a good idea to watch it. The blood might be a bit much though but hey we need alot of blood, but if Romero was truly great he's make the first Zombie series thing with alot of episodes, makeing it as long as the matrix and lord of the rings movie combined, also i wanna see a zombie movie where the man charector is fighting zombies then dies then go's to a totally different person and start's again from there, what a movie, now that would be an original. Its good but im not goina rip or burn this film because i will see it when it comes out on dvd and just buy it, cant download shit on my connection
