TA was a boring resource manager. Myth required you to focus more on battle tactics, instead of the typical. Zomg, tank rush mentality.

Myth required you to use criteria that hadn't until then been even considered for most real time strategies.

I prefered Myth over Total Annihilation as well, but I'm not that much of a RTS gamer anyway. I didn't really think TA was boring, though... It had pretty crazy action and at least in the beginning it was entertaining enough.

I liked Myth and TA, for different reasons. They are different enough that I don't feel they directly compete for my tender love.

Myth

It's still supported by Myth Village and Marius Net. It's worth playing if you have never had the chance. There is a patch to let you use the multiplayer without relying on the Bungie service and there are a lot of mods available for it too.

Fuck, myth i remember that now that game was cool with the beserkers and the dwarfs with pipe bombs and how i blew up all my troops

. Then it started to suck really badly when i kept losing, so i killed a child and mutilated his corpse with it, then i starting winning again so its all good
