Carsten Strehse hasn't gotten The Fall released in most of the world but is talking sequels now:

more tactical possibilities and optimized opponent behavior in the fights - yes

"Slapstick comedy" like FO2 - no

Fallout 2 still beats most of CRPGs out there. Why? SPECIAL, turn-based combat and non-linearity are definitely FO2's best characteristics. But, after playing the original Fallout, Fallout 2 felt like a disappointment. It didn't feel like a sequel; It felt more like an add-on with more guns, sex, monsters, easter eggs and bugs stuffed in it. It replaced the wastelandish survival retro theme with casinos and whores, of what Fallout, sadly, is known of to the large majority of players. It's interesting to see which approach Bethesda is going to take.
On another sidenote, half of Fallout Bible consists of explainations to the inconsistencies in Fallout 2.

Everyone played Fallouts in English, since translations have only been available for a few years, and many people think it sucks to play Fallout in Polish be it only for the fact that the same things don't feel the same in different languages, irrespective of which language is source and which is target. I mean you can try to get as close as possible, that's what real translation is about, but sometimes you only try. As a bilingual person, which I assume you are, you should know this Susan.S4ur0n27 wrote:You had the game badly translated in Polish mebbe

yea, I got that instantly, but anyway I thought I'd tell you about Fallout being played in English in Poland.
ed.: And bad translations actually happen quite often (like the crappy translation of the words "genie" and "elemental" in BG series and others; battlecries also suck), but Fallout trasnlation was done by a team of fans (including Ausir I guess), so probably it's not bad as a translation; point is any translation is somewhat bad as such.
Think of translating something like "there must be a killer reason for standing in my shadow"(Fallout) - you can come up with a similar pun, but even the tone of voice characteristic for English Vs Polish will change the final impact of the phrase; anyway any puns and things like spelling-resembling-jargon (eg. pirate) are damn hard to render in a medium other than original.
