JE Sawyer to work at Obsidian

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[ Person -> Update ] - More info on Person: J. E. Sawyer

It's not directly to do with Fallout, but there's hardly anything Fallout related these days. Josh Sawyer, lead designer on the DEAD game Van Buren, has moved to Obsidian.

So is gaunlet done then Sawyer? Nope.

I am going to work for Obsidian, starting Monday.

Can you tell us what you'll be working on, or is it a MYSTARY (sry, couldn't resist)?

It seems anyone connected to Fallout ends up working on Bioware sequels.

I remember Josh as pretty talented and devoted to the work at VB, so good luck to him. Is he gonna be the lead designer of KOTOR3? That'd probably be good for the outcome...

I remember how everyone was like "who the fuck is this J.E.?" back when he wrote some inflamatory shit at interplay.com forums, I think.

Did he quit himself, or was he quit? John Romero was fired recently, too.

Romero Leaves Midway
14/07/05 - 12:47:18

John Romero confirmed in this thread on ROME.RO Forums that he left Midway 3 weeks ago (thanksBlues). We remind you that John Romero and Josh Sawyer (Icewind Dale) were working on Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows, the game which marks the rebirth of the legendary Gauntlet franchise. Fortunately, the departure of Romero didn't affect the development of the game scheduled to ship this fall.

Thanks to the wonderful gamers hell page, thinking about it that's not much use really but surely the lack of details is code for kicked out?

Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows (PC) - The historic series returns as an action/RPG heavy on the action, and a little smarter on the RPG.
(Gamespy)
a stripped-down experience that was heavy on action and light on new story elements

Oh my, oh my! Can't wait to see what Josh's been cookin'.
