The Fallout and PA wiki is a godsend. Really. Too bad they didn't exist 5 years ago, when I still was playing Fallout actively. Now it's very fast and simple to check the stuff on the holodiscs etc. The best source for all in-game tips and tricks is still Per's Fallout guide, though.

Good on you, guys. Great piece of work
Still has some ways to go, what with it having 262 stubs at the moment, but that's the nature of any Wiki.
Wish it was more of a cross-site project than just a DaC project, but hell, you came up with the idea, and that's the way the cookie crumbles, ey.
PS: the 10mm page needs a detailed description of how the 10mm pistol is based on the gun from Hard Boiled

No, the .223 Pistol was based on that, the 10mm one is definitely from Hard Boiled. Just compare the image from that link to the 10mm gun.Killzig wrote:Really, I always thought it was based on the gun from Blade Runner.
As would I, but I don't think the chances are too big. This was very clearly made up as DaC's pet project from the start, NMA was never invited too participate or contacted about it in any way, which I think left a bad taste in a lot of NMA'ers mouths.Ausir wrote:Well, I've never been into the whole DAC/NMA animosity thing, so I hope some NMA people will also help us make the ultimate Fallout encyclopedia...

And its a wiki, I don't think there were invitations written out. Either you contribute or you don't.

Sure thing, but not exactly. When the wiki started and still now there were/are two major Fallout sites. The wiki was started, very smartly, by one individually. That's not the same as having a project like WikiPedia itself, it's very clearly *yours*. You call it "our Vault", "our wikipedia", "our project", not "a Fallout project" or "The Fallout Fans wikipedia"Killzig wrote:And its a wiki, I don't think there were invitations written out. Honestly, I have no problem with that whatsoever. I've been contemplating registering and adding myself, though I never have for some odd reason, but I'm just saying that with this attitude you're not going to draw anyone over from our side or get Odin to encourage people to participate. Especially since it's totally DaC-centered. You avoid linking to NMA as much as you can, even when using the Van Buren design docs that came via us.
's not exactly our fault, is it? Unless you want us to mail google and ask them to bump you up; of course we come up first, we've been around longer and have been active more steadily than DaC, not to mention moving and shutting down less.Aptyp wrote:NMA comes up first on Google "fallout" search. How's THAT for a bad taste in our mouths?

What's stopping you from writing up some great articles?Kharn wrote:Wish it was more of a cross-site project than just a DaC project, but hell, you came up with the idea, and that's the way the cookie crumbles, ey.
