Humans blow up outer space

Post by Mr. Teatime »

<strong>[ Community -> Images ]</strong>

<p><strong>Anonymous</strong> let us know that there are some <a href="http://www.vce.com/balloonetc.html#anchor_outerspace" target="_self">interesting pictures of
bombs exploding</a>, the most interesting being this picture of a bomb...
exploding in space. I'm assuming it's nuclear, and if it's not, well,
there's not much I can do about that.</p><p align="center"><img width="300" height="299" border="0" src="http://www.vce.com/cgi-bin/Images/AtomicArt/orange.jpg" /> </p><p align="left">Pretty. No, it's not a slow news day, I just wanted to post this.

Didn't it cause some sort of EMP effect, like blacking out radios?

It could have theoritcally been a Neutron class nuclear bomb, in which case there wouldn't have been any problems with electronics.

Edit: Scratch that, I apperently have my types of bombs confused. Neutron bombs rely more on immediate radiation to kill then others so are considered "Safe" in the sense that it'll leave buildings standing instead of destroying them.

You know, Operation Hardtack wasn't "atomic testing" so much as it was a pre-emptive strike... on aliens.
