I Am Legend set to go

Post by King of Creation »

<strong>[ Film & TV -> Update ]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/index.php?title=I Am Legend">Film & TV: I Am Legend</a>

<p>The post apocalyptic film <em>I Am Legend</em> is moving forward, albeit at a slow pace.</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em><span class="iAs">Warner Bros</span>. has officially set "<span class="iAs">Constantine</span>" helmer Francis Lawrence to direct "I Am Legend", finally putting the long awaited <span class="iAs">film adaptation</span> of the Richard Matheson novel on a fast track into production reports <span class="textwht">Variety</span>.

Mark Protosevich wrote the script for the <span class="iAs">film</span>
which has been on and off in development for a decade with Ridley Scott
and Arnold Schwarzenegger at one time involved, Michael Bay and Will
Smith at another. The film has previously hit the screen twice before -
1964's "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price, and 1976's "The
Omega Man" with Charlton Heston.

Set in Los Angeles after a biological war, the pic centers on the sole
healthy survivor, a man who finds himself in a battle against nocturnal
mutants. Pic will undergo a rewrite under the supervision of Lawrence,
who is eyeing a 2006 start date. </em></p>

True.

Seeing the progression, or rather depression, of the movie; Ridley Scott-Arnold, Michael Bay-Will Smith, and now Francis Lawrence, I wouldn't be surprised that in the end, Uwe Boll directs it and Ben Affleck plays in it.

Well, Constantine was alright once you got past the butchering of the license. Unfortunately, this is another license for the guy to butcher. We shall see.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Constantine was actually marginally good.
Would've been better if Ron Pearlman did a cameo as Swamp Thing :rockon:

I would have loved to see this directed by Ridley Scott. In all honesty, I can't think of another director with such a good record. I can't think of a single bad movie he's done. That aside, I think giving this film to the guy who did Constantine was a bad, bad idea.

Just proves how creatively bankrupt Hollywood is. Suddenly half the movies out are from TV shows and movies from the 70s.

Seriously, how far off are remakes of Westworld and Gymkata?

That being said I wouldn't mind seeing a Buck Rogers movie bee-dee-bee-dee bee-dee

Isn't Westworld already in production for quite some time? (unless that was your point).

No shit, did not know that. But I kinda figured it, given remakes of Rollerball and Logan's Run. I'm guessing Vin Deisel does the Yul Brener role.

Alrighty! Another post-apocalyptic movie! :clap: :dance: :crazy: :joy: :lalala: :pelvic_thrust: :hug: :giggle: :evil_laugh:

But this proves that Hollywood has no more ideas to do a 3rd remake of a movie/book...

On a side not, it would be cool having Arnold in another movie, although he can't really now... I picture "The Governator"! :hahano:

Vincent Price and then Charlton Heston. After Omega Man, they can only go downhill.
That being said I will probabally go watch it sometime.
I miss the good ol' USSA.

Anyway, I think you rather meant tautology, since shit's ass isn't contradictive, hence no oxymoron?
