I love it how bush was to be the boss of the investigation about what went wrong.
Impressingly unbiased.

edit:
And then they turned down aid.
Swe had a Hercules ready to takeoff on the 4th with water purification plants & chit. But bush tuned it down since they werent ready to receive anything just yet.
So it didnt lift off until a few days later still.

I haven't reached any goddamn point.

I might reach low point in Polish history, but that's debatable :drunk:

A fellow shopper, unable to fathom the absurdity of Rice’s timing, went up to the Secretary and reportedly shouted, ‘How dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!’
:drunk:

Does anyone else find that funny? One shopper accusing another one of "daring" to shop for shoes?

IIRC Rice is the Secretary of State. Even more IIRC, the State Dept. doesn't deal with stuff internal to the country. I'm pretty sure Katrina just ain't her problem.

Yeah, but she should have known shopping for shoes would get her in trouble on a day like that.

She's not the NSA anymore. She got bumped up to SecState in the 2004 cabinet shuffle when Colin Powell left. You can't really whine about what your government is doing if you're not even paying attention, junior activist man.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Of course this is all Bush's fault, because after the government machinery starts rumbling he's personally in charge of every detail.

I'd also like to argue our low point in history was when we were slaughtering Indians and enslaving blacks, but what do I know?
