I just downloaded it...i'll tell you in a couple of minutes.

Edit: I just played a little bit of it. Seems good. Although, I think I liked it better when Sam was playing in ancient, remote areas, not populated cities and stuff.

It's good I guess. Kinda plain. Painkiller is way better.

I like the original 2, but this is a bit shit. Nearly all the enemies fire projectiles, it has a dumb jumping puzzle and it's too busy.

Oh well.

So I guess Serious Sam 2 is not the same as Serious Sam Second Encounter?

Yeah, The Second Encounter was more like Serious Sam 1.5, I guess.

Can't you just call it an expansion or something?

Cause it wasn't sold as expansion. Shit, Doom 2 was just Doom with some new enemies, one new weapon, and more levels...

Well, Second Encounter wasn't called Serious Sam 2.

The demo was pretty stupid. It felt like a baby FPS or something. I don't enjoy fighting flying baby machines.

Well i played some more of it and got to the end and it was a little better than what I said before. The enemy designs suck really bad though and I have to ask, are the sound effects supposed to be really shitty? Was it like that in the other games?

There's way too many flying bad guys. In all other games like this (previous Serious Sams, Painkiller) you either walk into a room filled with guys or they come from around a corner at a constant stream. In this it's like you turn your back and they appear all over. More annoying than fun.

The weapons don't *feel* right. What's the difference between the machine gun thing with the shotgun with the dual submachine guns. The rocket launcher is your standard fare. Nothing special. Throwing grenades with secondary fire is kinda nifty.

Graphics aren't bad. Although they went way overboard with bloom and HDR which do nothing but make the game ugly and slow as fuck. Thankfully you can disable such an awful feature.

I still think Painkiller is the best game in this genre. Maybe I'll pick up the expansion for that instead.

I played painkiller a bit, but there wasn't any huge arenas like sierra di chappati or whatever, just dumb graveyards with dumb enemies.

They were pretty enemies, though. Brain-dead stupid, but pretty. I guess that's a law of nature or something...

Seems like it lacks everything that made The other Serious sams good.
