Well, for starters you need to be able to make decisions and choices affecting the outcome of the non-linear game story.... but then that rules out most console RPGs including Mystic Quest and the Final Fantasy franchise. Hence why I believe the phrase "Console RPG" is oxymoronic. Or maybe just moronic.
But still, Zelda is a "Hack n Slash Adventure" game, and a damn good one.
