since last night, i keep getting this one:
"phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database"

just wanted to let the dac staff know.

Usually if you get those errors, its because we're either upgrading the forums, messing around with the files, or there are server problems.

If your problems persist, let me know.

The whole server's been overloaded at random intervals for the past two days; Googlebot seems to be the culprit. And since the last thing I want to do is ban Google, I'll have to wait for them to get back to me on this.

In short, just hang in there until I get this worked out.

I'm curious regarding the response from the handlers of the

It's been cleared up like two days ago, heh.

It was just one or two lines of canned "sorry" reply, and that they'll slow down the rate of crawling. And that's that. It's a frequent problem with Google, they've got a whole FAQ section dedicated to it.
