Make dumb suggestions so we can ignore them. I'm lovin' it.

karma system for DaC

Post by vx trauma »

dumb one : vote based karma rating for each DAC member? Like in fallout you have this idolized-vilified value for every city.

That's the worst suggestion I've ever heard.

Are you afraid of the karma rating you would get? :flamed:

an altogether fine idea.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I think we already have this only it is unspoken. Who or what exactly would determine these ratings and how could it be protected from bias? Not a bad idea I just don't see any way to execute it. Still, I vote in favor of it.
my vocabulary skills is above you.

I've been on forums that had karma system, and they sucked ASS. Karma system is just an elaborate excuse for admins to kick off people who are constantly annoying and thus raking negative karma points really quick.

I am therefore totally against that. Also, I'm against postcounts.

Post count: Regulars will be recognized and respected anyway, as long as they have something usefull to say. For everyone else, it just makes them spam more.

Karma System: Just look at the votes on this forum; usually, only two to four people bother to vote, which makes for very poor statistics. It would be the same for the karma thing.

I fail to see the bad thing in that.
Although it could end up in something similar to a nazi-regime in no time, I would cherish the thought of the havoc it would create through the ranks of spammers, no-gooders, and general idiots.

Getting respect is not something one would actively seek here, since the only noticable respect you would get would be from the abovesaid.

Besides, golden nuggets of "something usefull to say" things, are indeed very, very rare...

You'll end up alone on the board, talking to yourself, doucebag, but I'm sure you'd be happy with it.

We're not going to have a karma system. Sorry.
