It was either that or the really annoying young kid hero with spiky hair who won't shut up ever about how peace and justice are so awesome and the answer isn't through killing which is so typical of anime. I think Fuse was a pretty good hero despite his stoic disposition.

What do you base that one on anyway? Considering the near unlimited amount of individuals that could fit as the main character, there was definately alot more to choose from than the two 'classics' you've mentioned.

He wasn't bad, but he could have been better.

A generalization of anime heroes.

Fixed.

As for Fuse, well, everyone seem to have a problem with that. Some even call him emo. I didn't care, because he was simply cold-blooded SOB. Animal.

Being cold-blooded has hardly prevented me from communicating with others, or conveying my thoughts in writing. In fact, I'm forced to, so that I may analyze and learn of reactions and emotions I myself am lacking in.

The act of being silent rather points to the opposite - being sensitive, confused or lacking in self-esteem. I could understand not saying anything, when you pump a bunch of people full of lead - those scenes would have been jewed up, if they had one-liners. But among friends and loved ones and that whole lot, the silence simply felt like insecurity and fear.

Blah. So you consider yourself cold-blooded, yet I don't think you ever even killed anyone. Well, that guy did. It's not like you can be efficent killingmachine one second, then loving parent writing poems at his blog later.
The fact that he is silent means one thing, the fact that doesn't smile, frown, etc. at all is another. So emo kids are silent, yeah, but then they will go to their room and cry or something. That guy? He just doesn't are.

Don't think, ask.

Psychopaths, hired guns, contract killers, soldiers, gang members etc - they kill too. Hell, even the terminator gave humanity a shot. Being an efficient killing machine, is about skill. Empathy can be conquered by will.

I think he looks sad all through the film, and in the end his face is convulsed with grief, showing that he's likely to have carried that burden for quite a while. Also, what do you think the silence means?

I think it's a trick, they just want attention. In reality they're not far from Fuse's behavior.
