Silent Hills were pretty scary and so were RE1-2 (although I was a bit younger back when I played those). And when I watched Ring (the American version) alone and in middle of a night it really made me scared.

But in general I think games scare me more. 'Horror' movies are way too predictable these days and in games the fact that it's 'you', kinda, who's getting his brains eaten by a zombie affects my scariness factor. If the immersion's sucking you in the setting it can have a really big effect.

in games you decide where to look, and there's always something creepy behind you (like in Undying, AvP, etc), which (interactive factor) makes game more scary.

Another tip - scary games are much scarier when you sit closer to the TV.

The creepiest thing about the first Resident Evil was the utter silence of the mansion. Half the time the only sound is your footsteps on the carpet, so you're walking around all calm and then you turn a corner and out of nowhere there's a huge green monster screaming and swiping at you with a giant clawed hand. Whereas with RE4 it's just a cacophony of shooting, wailing, moaning, cracking, pounding, chainsaw buzzing, etc. You become immune after a while.

Scary games are much scarier if you got the computer connected to your stereo w volume high up, use hallucinogenic drugs and all lights off.

Everything can be scarier with hallucinogenic drugs.

A guy I knew told me a story of his friend that went in class on drugs(dunno which one, maybe marijuana), sat down and then saw the Grim Reaper, screamed like crazy, took his bag and ran off. :drunk:

I don't think that's likely to happen on weed. But shit, I digress.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

depends on what the grass is laced with. Many smokers don't realise lots of pot is 'enriched' with chems.

Only very egocentric people keep count. But on the other hand, egocentric people are often successful. Teamwork is for pussies.

If you were Kashluk you'd post a link to that study, and it would be in your primary language.
