If you read the first part in About Interplay section you will realise why they put up the webpage and why they are bringing the forum up.
See that last part there.Interplay Entertainment Corp. is a developer, publisher and licensor of interactive entertainment software for both core gamers and the mass market. We are most widely known for our titles in the action/arcade, adventure/role playing game (RPG), and strategy/puzzle categories. We have produced titles for many of the most popular interactive entertainment software platforms, and currently are focusing our publishing and distribution business by developing interactive entertainment software for the On Line Massively Multiplayer market.
That means that they are making Fallout mmorpg.and currently are focusing our publishing and distribution business by developing interactive entertainment software for the On Line Massively Multiplayer market

I saw some correspondence between Herve and a former IPLY-employee somewhere on the net (some link at NMA), and apparently Herve does'nt have the money to make a paper hat, much less a mmorpg. He still owes a bunch of money in unpaid wages, which he is completely unable to pay. The next part of the drama may be that the former emplyees takes Herve to court, a move which will undoubtably bankrupt the guy.
However, I ALSO saw some mention that someone had dug into his financial situation, and found that he may have a nest-egg hidden away somewhere.
So who really knows? I'm eagerly awaiting the next development.

Erm mmorpg doesnt have to cost much to make. Take a look at RS. Its was done as school project by 2 guys. Now it has like 15k paying members online at all times. That got to be at least 30k paying them to play if everyone would play 12 hours per day. So its probebly even more. And about million free players wich they can spam with advertising banners.
