Nah, silt striders are indigenous to Vvardenfell, and are not found in Cyrodiil.
I always wished I could ride those instead of an automatic transit. So I would actually see the world go by as I travelled...
You like to loading... see lots of trees and loading ... lots of hills obscured by loading... a armored elven butt?

MORROWIND - THE REAL PLAYER OF GAMING! buffering .. buffering .. buffering...
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

What kind of system did you play it on? I never got any serious loading.
But I waited until last year to play it on a new middle-power system.
Dead, repetitive world. I liked the storms and the scout armor - very PA.

Yeah man, you were either playing it on a shitbox or on console. If console then you'll be glad to hear the following:

"For those of you that have been wondering, just a quick word. Oblivion does not REQUIRE a hard drive to work on Xbox 360. It will work on every Xbox 360. We would recommend you get one if you have the means because we use it heavily if you have one and it makes the game play smoother, but it is in no way a requirement."

So if you don't go for the HD it will run pretty much like Morrowind ran on the original Xbox, and if you do opt for the HD it will run like it would on a very high end PC. With the HD loading shouldn't be an issue.

Also if you were playing it on a shitbox it makes sense that it would run horribly because they try and make their showcase games as advanced as possible at the time of release so the longevity of the game is greater.

Morrowind was heavy on loading, but it was heavier on being boring, thus likely prolonging the loading times.

Far Cry ran a lot smoother and a hell of a lot prettier than Morrowind. That should tell you all you need to know.

You forgot to mention the part where "Farcry was much more fun then Morrowind" which was also important....although probably a given on second thought.

Morrowind movement- I just used a Breton with the boots. ASAP- I got a levitation item to piggyback on the boots. Only problem was those fucking birds. That noise drove me crazy. It was like being pecked to death by mosquitos. Flying uber-high avoids them but then I had to come below the clouds now and then to find out where I was.
I always saved a little levitation power to stop the fall when I was about to crash.
Pretty much that game was about finding the loopholes, because it just wasn't that fun.

Far Cry and Morrowind were two completely different games, you can compare the fun factor, though I agree on the graphics part.

FarCry definitely had better graphics than Morrowind. Of course, FarCry was released nearly 2 years after Morrowind :)

Morrowind had great art direction though, I loved the Telvanni structures and the Dwemer Ruins. Textures needed work, though.

Susan - (And I'm guessing that "Can" was a "Can't" from the odd way you set up the sentence) Why should Game A be uncomparable to Game B just because they were "completely different." I can compare two completely different movies. I can compare two completely different books. Hence I reserve the right to compare two completely different games for fun factor.

Me or mrsmileyfacedude?

Anyway.. why would you want to compare the two games?
One is a RPG of a sorts and the other is a braindead FPS.. only thing there's in common is the perspective, and even that can be changed =/

Besides, you can't compare just any two movies or books, that's just silly. You have to have a point of comparison.

Actually I think susan's post was right, you *can* compare the fun-rating for the two games, if you enjoy each genre equally.

And again there are as many opinions as there are people.. I found Morrowind to be much more enjoyable for the simple fact, that it ran at my pace. I wasn't forced into all sorts of fights constantly, but I could enjoy myself taking it slow, see sights, visit towns or whatever.

FarCry had big islands a *bit* of physics and that was that, I haven't touched my Farcry disc since a few days after I bought it. Too - damn - boring.

What I meant is : if you're either a RPG fan or a FPS fan, than comparing Far Cry to Morrowind makes no sense, since they're not the same genre.

The fun factor is totaly relative D:

At which point you're comparing them.....so you can infact compare any of those.... By in large, you can't just compare Far cry to Morrowind, but if you find something to compare them to, then you infact can compare them regardless of Genre - but in the case of games it becomes difficult since video games are a constantly changing medium, whereas books and movies for the most part are always the same.

Regardless, Susan said what he ment so theres no argument from me about it.

You missed teh point of the FarCry mention, thanks for playing though.

Your flunky intern who you guys sent to post here and try to convince us that your shit don't stink said Morrowind ran like a 3 legged dog on my system because my specs weren't up to snuff. I explained that it wasn't my system because I played it on (and around the same time) I was tinkering around with Far Cry. LOADING LOADING LOADING.
