Bunch of dickheads making an RPG
[ Game -> Update ] - More info on Game: Omega Project

DAC has got word from a bunch of idiots about an RPG they're making:

Darkedge Studios would finally like to officially announce the
development of The Omega project. It would be mos helpful if you could
post this press release on your news site so we can officialy get the
word out on the project. Thank you very much and hope we can count on
your support in the future.

Ummm... Given there's no URL or anything else, I figure that's the
press release right there. Boy, a URL to the site would be pretty
nifty though hey? I've seen better PR from Bethesda.

Anyway,
be sure to wonder about the project, what it is and what it's all
about. I guess it's post-apocalyptic but I wouldn't really know not
having a URL and all.

Yea they are. They even just had a tour without him. They had a guy backstage playing instead of him. And you can hear the new single here.

Omega Project (is based) takes place 1000 years in the future where the human race has over populated the planet like a spreading virus. Because of this over population, layers had to be built on top of each other to allow for more living space. With over population inequalities among men grew, exploited further by the powerful, cities were separated to the detriment of the weak.

Must be a slow newsday.
I really like the setting/environment; Multiple layers of 'cities' each representing a different social structure. They better have something to show next time, as I don't see a large percentage of this one getting finished.

Is it just me or isn't the character development quite different in Fallout and in Baldurs Gate? The design seems to be a mix of elements from both Fallout and Baldur's Gate. Whether or not that's a good thing, I don't know. I had hoped for turn-based combat, though.Random quotes from the website wrote:The game will be in Isometric perspective, like Baldurs Gate 2.
The combat system will be realtime, but a pause button feature will be implemented for tactical sake
“We want exploration (freedom) and character development to be more or less like fallout and baldurs Gate…
?Unlike fallout, there will be large amounts of people on the screen in order to add realism.

I'd say that "acceptable artwork" is an understatement; the artwork looks great! The setting is really cool. The plot (or whatchamacallit) and the characters so long is not so impressing. But, it is as they said "in the making" so we'll just have to hope for the best.
