A warm greetings to you all

Post by SeanyD »

I guess i dont need to introduce myself,

I think my name gives it away as to who i am and where im coming from.
First of all , i would like to apologize for not including a URL to the website...that was a very stupid mistake to make and understand how that could have got you all off onto a bad start with our team.

Secondly i would like to take some time to answer a few questions ....

In Reply to S4ur0n27 : yes i suppose the game does sound a bit fifth element, i can assure you though that it wont be very much like it at all. Maybe the top layer might take some characteristics of the movie but thats about it...each layer beneath that one will take on a totaly different theme, mood and look to it. Sorry about not releasing much on the game settings yet but we are still early in development and currently looking for new dedicated memmbers to help us out to speed up the process. Fallout did take on a mad max feel to it but no one got upset over that, because it was a great setting.

Quote (Insane-Lark): I see a forum with some acceptable artwork, little crew, lots of polls & a disturbing trend of replacing "you" with "U". Yum, it looks vapor-tastic!

Yes i agree with you on the bad grammer, so sorry about that. Im an artist and games designer, not a writer. :) Once we update with some screenshots and more artwork we will release an actuall website and not just a forum.

Quote (VasikkA): Is it just me or isn't the character development quite different in Fallout and in Baldurs Gate? The design seems to be a mix of elements from both Fallout and Baldur's Gate. Whether or not that's a good thing, I don't know. I had hoped for turn-based combat, though.

Yes you are right in thinking we will mix the two together, we will be testing out if this works to our advantage or not and if changes need to be made to make it better i assure you we will change them.

Quote (Williamnixon) : I'd say that "acceptable artwork" is an understatement; the artwork looks great! The setting is really cool. The plot (or whatchamacallit) and the characters so long is not so impressing. But, it is as they said "in the making" so we'll just have to hope for the best.

Thankyou very much William to the artwork being to your satisfication. :) As to the plot, the kidnapping of the presidents daughter is the absolute BASIC concept of the plot. Ha, the plot is very long and has many twists and turns you shouldent expect (or we hope not). Obviously we wont ruin anything for you or at least tell you a good portion of the plot untill later in the making of the game. I hope thats understandable.

Again, sorry if my grammer isnt great. I admit its one of my weak points.
So ill just leave for now and bid you all farewell. Nice meeting you all!

I suppose it could be pretty intruiging once it gets more on it's feet, and at least it looks like it already has a fairly substantial base of people to draw upon in the future for development and testing.

The setting could be interesting if they really do manage to pull it off the way they seem to want to, and as for everything else on the site; the art is certainly not bad and the other bits I haven't much examined yet.

Also, SeanyD, with the attitude you've apparently taken so far with dealing with both your work and the criticisms recieved, you guys may just pull the project off. Any idea as to wether or not you'll be using a custom or cheaply liscensed engine yet?

Thankyou Zetura,

Like i said before, this was just an announcement, mainly for anyone who would like to keep an eye on us as we continue our project.

Yeah, in life you allwas get bad crits and good crits. Doesont matter what game you would be making. I know games such as half life, baldurs gate and fallout got many bad crits in the past...but at the end of the day the games were extremely well done (depending on what kind of games you like). I take that aproach to this project, all i have in my head is to get the game done and make it something special.

As for the engine, our very talented programmer is using his engine he has made from the ground up for the project and currently tweaking and modding it to best suit the game in question. Myself and the programmer (Chromecan) agree that its best to spend some time on the engine and testing it through. This wont be a modified engine, and by all means wont be a cheap one either ;)

Im quite happy with the team i have working with me now, even though its a small team they are dedicated guys and very skilled. I would rather have a team of dedication then a huge team of slackers. Dedicated guys such as Chromecan, our programmer and Vlad, our musicion. (Vlad was the guy that did Rome : TotalWars music by the way) and Sinslave, who is an incredible artist. Plus theres our new writers who have been cleaning up my trail of grammer madness ha!

Im here if i can answer any of your questions when i get the time guys...
Yours sincerely
The Leader Dickhead. ha! ;)
