I played Auto Assault at E3 and it was amusing but I didn't see how it could be worth a monthly fee.

Some people may not like it because the controls are hard. You have to steer with one hand on the keyboard and aim weapons with the other on the mouse (often requiring the player to look in two directions at once). Steering with a keyboard sucked big time, it needed a steering wheel controller or maybe a joystick. Some people who don't like this game (of the group who actually played it as opposed to idiot whiners that form opinions without knowing anything about the subject) probably found it difficult to play, it is definately not for the "press one button and then sit back to watch the fight" crowd.

That said, it may well find a market. It is different than the rest of the MMOGs out there.
-Do we have anything resembling a plan?

Allow me to elaborate:
" Its just cool how one player can drive a tank and 2 players sit on it with machineguns and shot. "

-> is this supposed to be something new under the sun?

But on other news: it still looks mighty good. Downloaded & registered, we'll see if I can bother to test it this weekend.
It doesnt really add anything new that has not been seen in other fps games. But it has a decent mix of good features kinda taken from all other fps games wich makes it a pretty decent game to play. And its well balanced so there is no whining about someone using some gun wich is a big seller in my book.

I guess you can interpret this as the developers making a decision to throw out any semblance of realistic weapon performance. Either that, or it may be the rare case in which EVERY bullet is more or less lethal however I doubt they'd do something cool like that.

Nothing kills combat ambience like watching some guy have cloudlets of red erupting from his body as he runs unaffected by bullets.

If you like every bullet being lethal than just play Day of defeat for half life. That game is good to cause no weapon is overpowered.

But in war rock you can survive couple of seconds even thoe your shoot to death wich makes it so that you must still keep avoiding the enemi or he can kill you off and than fall dead.

I just played 1-2 hours of it. It's okay. At first it lagged like crazy but I installed the newest drivers(not my computer) and it worked well.

It does a great job with the post-apocalyptic wasteland but the controls and camera are horrible. I never really liked racing games, even less with a keyboard and the controls are though for me right now... The camera does not stick in the back of the vehicle, when I turn around, I lose track of the enemies I have targeted... There should be more camera options.

The combat is pretty much targeting the vehicle and running around. But I like not to target and hit everything. I'm only at the start anyway. It's no more better than WoW/CoH where you just stay put, press the button and wait for the attack to execute.

I'm also stuck in some stupid mission...

Maybe I'll write a review of the beta for DaC...

Operation Flashpoint? D:
Naw, OFP doesnt allow for multiple gunners without a mod, and I dont recall if that ever got released, though I know they solved the 1gunner problem.

But yeah, OFP kicks ass. Realsitic (for a game)

no way jose, i played it for a while, and OFP is pretty shitty. not because the idea sucked or anything like that, it's just very poorly made.

It's aimed at a very specific part of the gaming masses. Which is mostly made up of nerds and people who think going to the military is cool.

And those that are in the military.

Poorley made ? hardly, it allows for quite a bit of realism, realistic use of cover and concealment, semiaccurate representation of weapons, a comprehensive mission editor (though full use of it requires scripting skills, though you can do quite a bit without) and it supports mods so easily that you can play a game where nothing but the engine is from OFP.
