Isn't point of impact insignificant in Oblivion?Smiley wrote:Also, make sure to hit them in the back/head/back of the head.

When I hit things in the head with my bow (because I can't aim for shit with my claymore), they die more often/take more damage.
It's weird how all swords held with two hands are "Claymores"... noone of them are paticularly large compared to what I would think is a normal two handed sword..!
Isn't a claymore supposed to be near the height of a man..?

I won't be satisfied until you can garrotte someone.Smiley wrote:no... just use a dagger to give as much sneak attack as possible.S4ur0n27 wrote:For that you have to be a very high lever or have a crazy sword, no? It's stupid you can't slit throats and stuff.
How/who/when did you succeed at it?
For some times, my claymore sneak attacks for x2, but my dagger hits for x6. I'm pretty sure the dagger makes a coup-de-grace or something like that.
Also, make sure to hit them in the back/head/back of the head.
I'm not sure but if I sneak attack with a bow, there's higher damage on the head? dunno...
With full animation.
dammit.
Also: why not be able to sedate victims first, like that possibly legendary
technique of putting chloroform in the air conditioner.
And I want a Silence spell to make the cries for help null.
And the ability to block escape with furniture barricades or Web
spells. or something like that.

It's set that single handed weapons get bigger multipliers for sneak attacks. So you could use your steel longsword and still get that x6.no... just use a dagger to give as much sneak attack as possible.

So in other words, all the use for a dagger is eliminated?Stainless wrote: It's set that single handed weapons get bigger multipliers for sneak attacks. So you could use your steel longsword and still get that x6.
Even the speed wouldn't make up for it..!
What a load of...
What *might* interest you is that I have found several "magekiller" weapons.. they drain magicka/intelligence, usually, but some cast silence on the target on hit.I won't be satisfied until you can garrotte someone.

I'm somewhat sure that I have a silence enchantment on my char.
I have no idea wether or not it works, but it *would* be pretty nifty if it did.
As for barricading.. you'd think you'd be able to move around furniture, since you can buy a house, and since you can manipulate a lot of items.
Can't lockpick this chest? No problem, just carry it out
