Wasteland Merc 3 Demo
Not sure about the bestest part. But it is going to be most advanced fo2 mod ever. Just the movie in the demo is 600 lines of code. And no wm3 is not mmoprg simulation like WM2 was. It is our atempt at actually making crpg mod with plot and quests that you dont do over and over again and that have multiple solution and where your speach and charisma/inteligence and luck effect how people react and what you have for options when answering them. And your actions effect the world you play in.i have a feeling this is going to be the bestest fo mod ever! hooray!
Plus we have a new maper that is actually making alot more detailed maps and is putting alot of time and effort in to making them. That can be seen in the demo even if the map is not 100% finished.
Personally, and with a nod to excuses, I am going to cling to an altogether different suspicion, specifically : that you're irredeemably daft, sandwiches, flooding, Ockham's Razor, and so on. Although that wouldn't apply if you were sometwo, somethree or somefive. Would it ?Haris wrote:I am gonna stick with the theory . . .
Oh yes.
Nope. That title is reserved for FMF. If you mean the most advanced fo2 mod yet, then sure. Not much of a competition in that respect.Haris wrote:But it is going to be most advanced fo2 mod ever
LOL! If you required 600 lines of code, the programmer must have been even more retarded than the movie itself. And that's saying a lot. Jeez. I guess you didn't even make a loop for the überkewl "fighting" scene in it. That would of course explain a couple of hundred excessive lines of code right there.Haris wrote:Just the movie in the demo is 600 lines of code.

I have been on fmf team and i know what i am talking about.Nope. That title is reserved for FMF. If you mean the most advanced fo2 mod yet, then sure. Not much of a competition in that respect.
You aperently havent programed alot. There is a loop for fighting scene. But the movie has different dialog depending on your inteligence, charisma and gender. And its alot more advanced version of original fallouts gamma movie wich is allso alot of lines of code but they dont move alot and there isnt as much talking.LOL! Correction: you have been on the fmf team and you have no idea what you're talking about. Can you mention even one thing that you did for the fmf project? I thought not. I don't blame you - you have your own mod to work on, but I seriously doubt that you have even the faintest idea of what will be in fmf.Haris wrote:I have been on fmf team and i know what i am talking about.
I've programmed enough to know that you wouldn't need 600 lines of code to make that "movie" of yours.Haris wrote:You aperently havent programed alot.
Oh, so the code for the whole movie is duplicated for each combination of intelligence, charisma and gender that is possible? That sounds about right - 200 different situations to account for. It's of course easy to make the dialogue depend on a variable instead, effectively minimizing any given amount of combinations to three lines of code. Don't tell me you need hundreds of lines of code just to take care of that.Haris wrote:There is a loop for fighting scene. "Borderline" is, in itself, not a condition. One can be a "borderline pschyzophrenic," "borderline psychotic," or something of that sort. Borderline is an adjective, and in this case one must follow the adjective with a physical or mental condition. HuzzahHaris wrote:boarderline

I know exactly whats going to be in fmf and i promissed DU not to talk about it openly and i stick to that.Correction: you have been on the fmf team and you have no idea what you're talking about. You havent programed enough fallout 2 scripts to know that aperently. Its not just dialogues. Its all the map cordinates and timed actions that need to be scripted to achive that kinda movie. Its one and the same script that controlls each character in that movie. And its attached to a stone on the ground.I've programmed enough to know that you wouldn't need 600 lines of code to make that "movie" of yours.
Oh and script is done by a Miran. And he is reading computer science at university and fallout scripting is bellow his level of scripting skills. Yet you with absolutly no idea of what is in the script try to call him retarded.

Haris probably is too borderline to understand even that.King of Creation wrote:"Borderline" is, in itself, not a condition. Agrajag should just go over to Haris' home and beat the crap out of him and videotape it, make sweet buttlove to him like he used to or both.
No i actually work at psychiatry clinic and i have heard couple of patients refer to them self as boarderline patiens when they actually had personality dissorder. Hance i used that term as its more known to public.i bet your 'friends' use that phrase to mock someone. hence the lack of knowledge. happy 15th birthday.
Than again what conditions are called can be different from country to country. And it was ment as an insult in this thread. So if i was wrong in any way i really dont give a rats ass.

Yeah. Right. We'll just wait and see which mod will be the most "advanced".Haris wrote:I know exactly whats going to be in fmf and i promissed DU not to talk about it openly and i stick to that.
Again, you speak of things you do not know anything about. 'Tis a bad habit, you know.Haris wrote:You havent programed enough fallout 2 scripts to know that aperently.
The dialogues (which by the way appear to be nothing more than 36 lines, and it seems to me that you're only distinguishing between three cases: normal, dumb and male, and dumb and female) can easily be handled with approximately two lines of code; one to initialize a variable and one to set the variable. If you (or Miran, whatever) copied the entire code just to separate the three cases you differed from, then that, I'm afraid, is a sign of stupidity. The map coordinates are just integers. They don't take up a lot of space. The timed actions in themselves are nothing more than a calling of timed_event_p_proc, and it really doesn't take up a lot of space either.Haris wrote:Its not just dialogues. It would take some code to animate the shooting, granted, but you would really only need to write that once. Make it a custom procedure and call it every time the mercs shoot. I'd guess you need about 7 lines of code for each critter (which would call for about 50 lines of code if you just rewrite it for seven critters, and about 15 if you make a function to take care of it). Making a critter run to a location is just one line of code, and all the talking and fighting can easily be done with a set of two or three loops.
I'm quite sure I could make such a "movie" with less than 100 lines of code. Where the other 500 lines come from is beyond me, unless the code is either very poorly written, or you count comments and blank lines as "lines of code".
Orly?Haris wrote:Its one and the same script that controlls each character in that movie.
You're right, I don't know what's in the script. You said it contained 600 lines of code though (ironically in an attempt to brag about how "advanced" your mod will be, as if 500 lines of superfluous code is something to be proud of), which made me question the intelligence of whoever wrote it, as you surely do not need that much code to make such a simple script.Haris wrote:Oh and script is done by a Miran. Since I don't know what's in the script, why don't you show it to us? Show us the advanced programming skills you need to make such a professional "movie".
What do you work with? Cleaning toilets?Haris wrote:i actually work at psychiatry clinic
