I ended up beating the Custom Scenario mission because the AI got stupid by leaving its castle and then not coming back after I took it. I won due to the "7 days" rule. Can't seem to win the Campaign mission, though, as the AI has a ridiculous advantage and somehow busts out high-level troops after the first couple of days. They rush the castle and decimate my people. Maybe it's just because I'm terrible at the game or something.

Some kids in one of my computer classes used to always play HOMM3 hotseat and they seemed to have a lot of fun. I will try the demo but I dunno if I will survive the learning curve.
I liked HoMM2 and HoMM3 took a grat deal of fun hours back in its day. The 4 was obviously crap, and 5 is supposed to be a spiritual succesor of 3 but with better gRapHics. All in all, I'm gonna give the full HoMM5 a shot, but I'm pissing at the demo.
How big is it anyway?

To my mind, HoMM 3 Complete is the perfect time waster game when there is nothing one wants to do. I suppose Ishall eventually get around to checking out the demo to 5.

well, Ive tried it for fifteen minutes or so...
I suppose it isnt that different from the other ones gamewise.
However the explosion like effects generated when units strike eachother makes the game bloody unplayable. I just cant stand it.
Whats wrong with gore?
edit: I know the other homms didnt have (much if any) gore, but they didnt have cartoon like explosions either.
