I think your sitting skills go up the more you sit. Benches are better than chairs and pews are better than benches IIRC. A master at sit can sit for hours and not take any damage. My charactor is a journeyman at sit right now.

That character in obilivion looks like Pipboy. I'm pretty sure Bethesda wouldn't do the automatical skill leveling thing, as picking your skills was a big part of Fallout.
