Damn, I remember about a decade ago doing 7 17s in a row at SBux.
Manager wasn't hiring people.

Overtime was better last year. I'd nab 55+ hours a week. With the new system they have in place it's a lot faster and we start later. 5 PM now =(

But yeah. Labor. In a warehouse. Packing boxes. Joy.

Is it worth it? Fuck no. We'll see what I have to say when I get the paycheck though.

I do around 55 or more a week at the moment...At the job I had before this I averaged around 80 just sitting outside and/or coloring pictures....In about 4 weeks, I'll be working two jobs...My current, and back to the old one as well. Being poor is stupid.

I honestly don't value money enough to work that much.

If anything, its a lesson in getting yourself an education.

I did a similar job, was working 12 hour shifts packaging little shitty e-tag toll account things. Jumped ship into a neighbouring department, now i work 8 hour days, and spend about half of that sleeping in the racks.

Some of the people with the longest hours are very well educated. The only difference is an education earns you a salary which denies you overtime pay.

Anyways, I worked 40 hour weeks one summer. It was neat because it was a character building experience and all (as as corny as it sounds, it's true. Every kid ought to have at least one summer's worth of manual labour before going off to study whatever garbage "higher education" they're after). Also the money. It was a union job with the government, so the money was mmm mmm good. It did kind of suck that I couldn't go do anything except for on weekends (7 AM start every morning is rough), and even then I'd be beat from the work week.

But damn, the money. I'm sorry, Jesus, I'm real sorry, but there really is happiness through material possessions.
