E3 Goodies
E3 Goodies
Let me start:
"Cinemaware, a revolutionary developer in the 1980’s and now an affiliated label of eGames, Inc. (OTCBB:EGAM), today announced an initiative to give legendary titles, like Defender of the Crown, new life as part of Cinemaware Classics. Cinemaware is preparing completely new games based on its stable of amazing properties employing the ‘Cinemaware experience’ of melding a captivating storyline with the grand cinematic experience that differentiated the original Cinemaware game properties. Cinemaware Classics will be revamped for the enjoyment of long-time fans and today’s large and growing audience of new casual game players.
Cinemaware Classics will be based on Cinemaware’s award-winning catalogue like Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown®, Defender of the Crown®, SDI™, The Three Stooges™, The King of Chicago™, Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon™, Rocket Ranger™, Lords of the Rising Sun™, It Came from the Desert™, Wings™ and the TV Sports™ SportsTMfranchises."

Sounds promising. I hope they don't 'revamp' them too much.

STALKER hasn't yet kicked the bucket, it seems.

German PC Games states that peacetime human AI has been scripted, and that eating and sleep have been scrapped.
At the same time, Polish GRY OnLine reports that realistic eating and sleep are no longer in, that eating still remains in the form of standard clicking on food in the inventory. Healing will not be via sleep anymore.
We will try to get official commentary on this as soon as possible.

It says that it was finished year ago but they couldn't "balance it"VasikkA wrote:STALKER hasn't yet kicked the bucket, it seems.

Oh wait, this is rich: "Enormous ambitions must have been confronted with reality, so character development was completely forfeit, also simplified were things like realistic feeding[whatever] and resting during sleep. There will be no such thing in the final version, and eating or healing will be reduced to clicking a food ration in the inventory, which will result in complete regeneration of the health bar."
The game will be supposedly released Q1 next year.
You will play as a Stalker who lost his memory.
There may be possibility of sneaking and hiding in the shadows.
The case of driving vehivles is "still open"
Also, notice the screenshots are still showing the same levels which I saw in the leaked beta
Serious Business.

Stalker was shown behind closed doors to select members of the press. Try to notice all members of "their" press are from Poland, Ukraine, etc and none of them make sense. I would be amazed to see a detailed report from any English based game site or magazine.
From what little you can gather is they gutted Stalker exactly the way I said they would. All role playing stuff is gone. No more vehicles. And it probably lost the whole nonlinear open world they hyped so much.

Some post-E3 news:

That's right. Sam & Max are returning, now in epi$ode$! Watch the trailer on the website.Telltalegames.com wrote:Telltale Games is working with Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell to create an ongoing series of episodic Sam & Max games. We've partnered with GameTap to distribute the first season of games and share in the general revelry. (Dan Connors also got a nice t-shirt out of the deal!) Season 1 will debut this fall at GameTap and on Telltale's site with short, punchy episodes released in rapid succession, each telling a self-contained story, all the while feeding into a grander season-wide arc.
If this sounds kind of familiar, don't be alarmed. Look over at your television for a second and think about how TV seasons work. (To make the analogy sweeter, try and concentrate on the good shows.) It's kind of like that, but with funny video games.
