This doesn’t look good for DAC

It all boils down to the age-old question...

The one we have been asking since July 12, 2004...

Does BethSoft have the balls to make a great fallout game?

They already have their kiddy game with “sweet graphics and an easy to follow story, with a hold your hand plot manager. Now that that gap has been filled they have room to release a Dark and very Mature title. One with children, and porn (not necessarily child-porn). Maybe BethSoft is finally trying to get into a new market, they see a demand and wish to profit from it by meeting that demand in a manner which cannot be easily exceeded by their competition.

Maybe they will blow us all back in our office chairs once we see what they can really do with such a fantasmic and deserving title.

Maybe we are all going to need to :chew: our words once we see the glory which is Fallout 3!

Maybe BethSoft will finally create a true benchmark in gamming, and FALLOUT 3 will be the fantasmic game to beat all fantasmic games!!!

Or…

maybe they will just fuck it up and make a mild, childless piece of garbage, and we can all finally rest knowing that the true Fallout will never return.
I have returned! (again)

I'd just like to add to ol' JC's post that Bethsoft truly is in a privileged position in the gaming industry. They aren't fighting for their existence, they don't have to bend over and take it in the ass by some dollar-gorging publisher and, most importantly, they don't have to play safe. Given that position and the legacy of the licence they have an opportunity to take the necessary risks and create something truly wonderful; something CRPG fans haven't seen since '97. Undoubtedly, the immoralities, violence and adult themes will cause anger and controversy in some circles, may it be Jack Thompson, Jesuits, Wal*Mart or militant lesbians. But the day gaming surrenders to these demands or to the bouquet of the almighty Buck, talking about games as a form of art can be forgotten.

Don't let us down, Pete.

Fallout also needs more variety.... in human bodies.... I feel like I'm killing the same "You see: Villager" in Shady Sands and Arroyo...

I hope I can see this in Fallout 3. :drunk:

There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

No!!
DAC- For all your fallout needs.

^ No, it's not for all your fallout needs. I think this site attracts more swell guy, shitheads, losers, and thread-hijackers than it does Fallout fans. This site should be renamed the Steamy pile of Horse shit or aka SPHS- For all your not-Fallout needs.

OK.

Rereading my post I see what I wrote and the message I meant to convey are not entirely alike. I was referring to the porn studio in New-Reno in an effort to make a play on words with (child, porn).

Humor has never been my strong point and I shall try to stick to knock, knock jokes in the future.

Blargh,

I would never try to steal your attraction for radioactivly enlarged arthropods, considering the various attires I would most surelly need to purchase ( and wear ) not to mention the accident with the gumball machine ( which we at work refer to as "the accident" ) and the now non-existant sexual attraction between us. Know that your reversed psychology may work on countless others, but hardly on a decorated veteran of the King's Army.

Your's,

Jeff McBrockley,
Colonel.

*laughs*

Wearing itself, perhaps. Lost and inverted. Never reversed.

I'm glad I never trusted you, despite the silver, otherwise I would likely be upset by your breaking of strictest confidence. Though not nearly as painful as the prerequisite momentary weakness. Which would only be if it weren't. As a and by a Standard. Uniform immunity. Your characteristic thoughtfulness, however, even when left inactive, is, as always, touching. Fortunately I was on assignment in darkest Borneo at the time. The many burdens of memory. Thankfully though, that never happened. Not even temporarily.

Or that. :drunk:

you shouldn't be pretty much screwed, that prevents you from beeing an evil character, wich makes it bad roleplaying. Of corse, people around you should try to kick your ass if they see you kill a kid, but you shouldn't magically be banned from every town in the entire game.

EDIT, wow, this thread had gone really out of hand when I made this post.

Wow, I can't wait til they herald their radiant AI system for children! Kids will be staring at walls and having inane conversations on a completely different AI system. AWESOME!

Bethsoft must be having a bear of a time naming new characters after years of working on TES shit. No Vakaawsryyyyd's in Fallout, bitch.

Fallout 3 will have children, only you can't kill them. That means we'll have to settle for knocking them out over and over again until some TES fanboi thinks it'd be cool to mod Adoring Fan into the game.

We should be allowed to kick little children, then have a distance meter in our personal stats. Just like FABLE! :flamed:

If there are no children to kill in FO3, what would be the point?

I mean don't go and try to seduce the kiddies with candy or anything like that.
