Bozar vs. Light sup. Weapon

Post by Strap »

ok,

Bozar:
25-35 damage
15 bullets per burst shot
range=35
holds 30 bullets (2 bursts to empty it)

Light support weapon:
20-30 damage
10 bullets per burst shot
range=40
holds 30 bullets (3 bursts to emty it)

both have 6 ap cost, unless of corse you have Fastshot/Bonus rate of fire.

both use .223 FMJ, very common. Which is better?
some other guns are better, but i want your opinion on these.
thanks

(i prefer the LSW)

Do the math... 25 * 15 == 375 (given all bullets hit of course), while the LSQ does 200 to 300 max...

Unless you have 12 aps, but even then that's just missin 1 shot out of 9 compared to the LSW... So let's take it to a round number: 6 turns
Bozar: 8 shots, LSW: 9 shots... Bozar minmum damange: 375*8= 3000, maximum damage LSW: 2700...

Even counting the bad reload times, the maximum damage of the LSW is still lower then the Bozar's MINIMUM... And you never get the maximum...

Bozar, I got it first time from the toxic caves very early on in the game, can't remember where I got the electropick from, but any ways I used up untill navarro and sometimes against aliens.

Its most valuable at the start of the game anyway, I used a combination of jet and bozar thru most combats :twisted:

I loved those criticals with Bozar (up to 600-700 points of damage). And especially when i had 2 criticals / turn. A burst with bozar costed me 4 APs so I had enough time to empty the magazine and reload for next turn. LSW isn't too different from bozar but bozar has a sexyer name ;)

Only bad thing is you need to take lots of ammo with you when fighting with bozar. I used all ammo several times and that sucked.

I like the Bozar over the LSW for reasons already listed. Of course, that is just out of the two choices. I hate them both because....because......I just don't like them. :?

The Bozar is my favorite for killing the Wanamingos (sp?), but I don't especially like either the Bozar or the LSW. I tend to only use the bozar for clearing out the tanker and the wanamingo mine.

The modified assault rifle is a real mans gun ;-)

Once Sulik had a power armor and got against me (accidentaly shot the bastard) so before i reloaded i Bozar'd him and what do you know? a 733 hit point critical, oh yeah and once i gave a wanamingo a 1200+ hp critical.

So Bozar kick all ass...

If you consider critcals simply double/triple/quad (and perhaps more) the damange, it's no suprise, looking at the figures I gave earlyer that it does so much damage with it.

Well yes! :-)

Using stuff like the AR agianst for example, the Mordinos, is actually challenging, and fun.

Bozars are *cheating*.

They are like the rocket rifles in JA2.

I only like the Bozar because it is effectively a sniper machinegun. LSw is fun but Imostly use the guss rifle in the very end/sniper in the middle/hunting rifle in the beginning.

Bozar isn't cheating. What's so wrong with effective weapons and why did BIS put those kind of weapons in the game? Simply because you need them against the enclave and you get quite late in the game. Getting bozars/miniguns/power armors in the beginning is cheating, that's not what the game developers had in mind. But classifying bozar as cheating is not true. Truth is it's an excellent weapon. For challenge, go for an unarmed/melee character. Or use a pipe rifle as your primary weapon :wink:

word upp...... the bozar was intentionally programmed into the game, therefore using such an item is in no way cheating.
