RTS games without building?
Yo,
I've been playing Myths again, and oh boy these games are still great. For me, one factor that makes Myths so enjoyable is the lack of base building - that stuff always bored me: spend an hour building a huge base, another hour building a big army and then kill everyone (I always preferred the last part). So I was wondering if any of you knew any great RTSs with no building involved (besides Close Combats and Myths). Or if you know of some really super-duper base-building RTS that doesn't get boring, I'm reluctantly willing to give it a try.

Yes, those are good, if you like the series, try Rome: Total War (that one is amazing) and the expansion for it Barbarian Invasion (never tried that one). One complete RTS and an awesome game that is set in a more modern setting is Blitzkrieg, and you can also play as the Germans (Y)Gimp Mask wrote:WHAT ABOUT THAT SHOGUY: TOTAL GAY AND ITS SEQUELS ARE THEY ANY GOOD? KEEP IN MIND THAT I WANT MORE STRATEGY AND LESS BUTTFUCK!!!

Hmm. When it comes down to strategy games that don't involve building those crappy structures, you'd have the most fun playing a Tactical Strategy game.
Besides FO:T. At least in my opinion.
In my opinion, Myth is the best RTS out there without base building. I think there's this game called Blood & Magic, but I haven't tried it yet, so I can't tell you whether it's crap or not.

Ok, then I have the perfect one. Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Imagine Freespace if you controlled 1 or several capital ships. It may appear complicated with all the engine and weapon management, but it's fairly simple to jump into. You do have to pause then tell the ship where to go or something like that. It isn't fast paced by any means. And it's really damn hard. But damn does it ever feel good to be the only one left alive after an epic battle. I think I'm gonna reinstall it now.
