it's okish, though not nearly half as good as the first one.

Mech Commander is really awesome indeed.
They got fat off ZedBurgerz in the expanse of time between MC1 and MC2. That's why they turn so slow.

I've been playing Myths again, and oh boy these games are still great. For me, one factor that makes Myths so enjoyable is the lack of base building - that stuff always bored me: spend an hour building a huge base, another hour building a big army and then kill everyone (I always preferred the last part). So I was wondering if any of you knew any great RTSs with no building involved (besides Close Combats and Myths).

For some reason I hated Freedom Force. I just couldn't enjoy it, no matter how much I tried to :(

It's only fun with custom characters from scratch and a crapload of enemy ass to xp rape.

Or you can have two characters named "Atomic Bombs" head toward each other. With a bunch of crates underneath. Lots of animals too. Some scattered people.

Why not just get HoI2 off Amazon or have one of your local shops order it for you?

Very similar to Commandos -> Desperados... The first one was just sweet, I recently bought the second one, which was kind of a disappointment.

Dungeon Keeper 2 has digging instead of building - does it count?

Rome: total war was already mentioned..

Black and White

I hear Darvinia is kinda cool and original, but I don't know about building.

Not sure, it was on cassette in the 80's.
