pens do better job, but a straw would maybe doKing of Creation wrote:I recorded it and just got a chance to watch it. I must say that I am pretty disappointed with the scope of nuclear devastation. I was expecting crazy ass shit. And then all of the cliches: bus load of escaped convicts, prodigal son returns home, etc. And how the hell are we expected to believe that the guy can do a tracheotomy with juice box straw??

Hmmm
Well, I actually enjoyed it... It's better than a lot of the newest shows out this fall. I mean, it's got a decent setup, specially with the empty Con-bus.... Here come the raiders. ';0) hehe. All in all, you can only expect so much from primetime TV... So far it looks watchable/enjoyable...
Hell, i'm still waiting for the next season of Lost and BSG... O, that show Heros looks interesting too.

Anyone else see last night's episode? It was called "Fallout" and the town was freaking out about the radioactive clouds coming from Denver. I liked the end where after the smart black guy received the coded radio message he puts all the red pushpins on the map of the US, indicating what cities are nuked. It faded out with him grabbing more and more pins. Good stuff, at least we know pretty much for sure everyone is fucked.

It was better than the first one, but still a little clichéd. With the prisoners dead who will play the role of the raiders???
Good stuff indeed. I was really impressed with the ending.Mad Max RW wrote:It faded out with him grabbing more and more pins. Good stuff.

No. I don’t remember more bodies, I guess there may still be some hope for the bad guys.Mad Max RW wrote:I can't believe there were only 2 escaped prisoners from that bus. Did it show a bunch of dead ones in the crash last week?
One of my wives noticed the same thing??? Weird eh?Mad Max RW wrote:Also, I may have blinked, but what happened to the deaf chick and the two policemen in the trunk? They were alive 2 seconds before the shootout then all of a sudden gone.

Guys, guys, guys.
Please remember that even though the show is kind of hoaky, it is still a post nuke show and is the first non-religious post nuke show/movie in about 20 years to come on to TV. Jeremiah was a post apoc show, but not post nuke and it had religion writen all over it, Jericho, besides the name hasnt made any religious innuendos yet and is looking decent so far.
It does remind me of the 1980's movie "The day after" so much. I watch the day after almost as much as I watch Mad Max these days, there just isnt any newer good post-nuke movies made yet, or at all. So please while the show does seem to have its downfalls, remember, its been awhile since something like it has come on TV.
Oh yeah, and last, the show is about survival and drama, not action, and probably not adventure aswell.

A hollow shell of a man....
The Day After was a bit weak.
Threads was better.
Jericho:
Its supposed to be about everyday people dealing with things.
So you've got people who inhabit the technostructure without much of a clue as to how it works.
Then it goes away.
I was frustrated watching Jericho.
The supermarket/etc. grrr!
The perishables should be converted into some form of hardtack or composted post-haste. (fertilizer is mostly made from petrochemicals. "Agribusiness" to a large extent is just using the soil as a sponge to soak up water and oil products. Then food grows. That shit aint gonna work after the big one...)
and so on...
edit: alright, thinking about what to do would take longer than they have had, but still...
