Had long forgotten the name of that game until you mentioned it now. I think it was one of the first computer games I played on my dads PC if not the first. All I can remember is that there was a cat, mice, cage?, different rooms, jumping and lots of magenta/cyan.

yup I remember everyone went crazy when Flashback came out (omg Another World follow up with 3d - like scenes lol)
but either I couldn't get ahold of it or my rig was too slow. Can't remember.
When I finally got it years later, it wouldn't run properly (think I had some controls issues) and it didn't look all that great - only got through a few first screens.

It's a pretty awesome adventure game, Redeye. If possible get the version that actually had voice acting, etc.

I was always a fan to the arcade TMNT and Simpsons. They had similar graphics and the character choices were cool. PC games, I enjoyed DragonWars, California Games, Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiago, Wings of Fury, and Wasteland (grew up with Apple IIc). The one game that took most of my attention later was Super Mario Bros. I spent two weeks solid trying to master the art of 100 lives.
