It's good reading if you don't mind the oftentimes bewildering prose and plots mainly inferred from subtext or just made up from the whimsy of your own imagination. I enjoy his writing style a lot and many people just think he was a one-shot trickster with the cut-up technique but in reality he was an extremely capable writer on his own.SuperH wrote:Naked Lunch you might be the one to ask, although biased, how good is reading Burroughs? I am interested, I have only seen the movie atm and I know it is pretty far different but - enlighten me?
For starters, check out Port of Saints or City of the Red Night. Enjoy. 10-4 that good buddy

Audio book, you mean? 'Spoken word' is another thing entirely. Check out Dead City Radio.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

"Distraction," by Bruce Sterling.
Just gets weirder and weirder, and you don't even notice it until half way through the book!

I'm reading Access All Areas by Ninjalicous for my english class. It's a guide to urban exploration(which is the topic of my project thing) and its pretty fucking dumb. The guy thinks that there is a lot of skill and thought involved in urban exploration, like ZOMG COVER UR FLASHLIGHT LOL. It goes into stuff about practicing hide and seek to improve your exploration skills.
The exploration community are kinda jackasses too, you have to be approved membership to see locations of all the good places to go which I kinda understand but if your willing to go to an urban exploration website then your not very likely to just go to these places to steal or vandalize stuff. I can understand from their point of view but I don't want to fuck around just to find the good areas. I might end up exploring an urban dumpster.
