Interplay Attempts to Pimp DAC
I donno where it would be any more, but to summarize, Rosh was adamantly against the idea of any sort of dual wielding, pistols, smgs, anything, because it "did not fit the fallout setting, plebian child, et nausea."
It was apparently soooo unrealistic that it just wouldn't make sense in Fallout, period. It wasn't 50's enough too.
My argument was, if you've got powered armor and the ability for a single man to carry and fire what in reality would have to be a vehicle mounted machine gun, saying that the ability to hold and fire two pistols simultaneously was really not so far fetched.
But even if you don't know Rosh, you've read this thread. He qfe'd line by line and thew the insults, to make sure everyone knew about his super-patriotism to the fallout cause

The Radiated Society, or TRS, is the biggest little Fallout site around. It is the first truly democratic Fallout site ever created. Every person in the governing body, called the Proconsul, is elected every six months. Furthermore, the citizens of TRS have the opportunity to vote on every issue before it reaches the Proconsul. This increases the chances that the actions of the people running the show will be in the best interest of the people who elected them. This democratic system of government is unique to TRS, as no other Fallout site even comes close to having such an interactive administration.

Except, as I noted at length before with more numerous examples, that Fallout is primarily styled around 50's fiction of a particular style, namely EC Comics, and not Tomb Raider or The Matrix.SuperH wrote:I donno where it would be any more, but to summarize, Rosh was adamantly against the idea of any sort of dual wielding, pistols, smgs, anything, because it "did not fit the fallout setting, plebian child, et nausea."

"Well, they could just add a bit more leather to the leather jacket and add a skirt to it and look totally like The Matrix..." Tchyeah...
Thank you for playing.

Case in pointRosh wrote:Except, as I noted at length before with more numerous examples, that Fallout is primarily styled around 50's fiction of a particular style, namely EC Comics, and not Tomb Raider or The Matrix.
Then I would say something like "What about the obvious Road Warrior influence?" to point out that it might not be exclusively styled around 50's EC comics, and then Rosh would say "That is just a small stylistic influence and has nothing to do with the setting."

Fallout is very *little* Mad Max/Road Warrior. There are some obvious influences of it readily available, such as the lost man in a lost world setting, the leather armor, and several other easter eggs, but otherwise it has a backstory and setting more to 50's EC comics than to Road Warrior.SuperH wrote: Then I would say something like "What about the obvious Road Warrior influence?" to point out that it might not be exclusively styled around 50's EC comics, and then Rosh would say "That is just a small stylistic influence and has nothing to do with the setting."
Except for the silly tribal shit.
Except that you're not firing them at once, they occupy different weapon slots. Akimbo implies same-time firing. Also ignoring silly things like http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_ ... ic_id=1289
