More on Fallout 3 and the 360
<strong>[ Game -> Interview ]</strong> - More info on <a href="#Fallout 3">Game: Fallout 3</a>
<p><a href="http://www.gamernews.org/2007/01/19/fal ... -bethesda/" target="_self">From GamerNews.org</a>:</p><blockquote><p><em>In an exclusive interview with the UK Official Xbox Magazine,
Bethesda have revealed more details about Fallout 3, the legendary
post-apocalyptic RPG franchise they took over in 2004. </em></p><p><em> And whilst the title has only been confirmed for the PC thus far,
judging by the comments below, an official word on its Xbox 360 release
could be imminent… </em></p><p><em> Speaking to Todd Howard (Executive producer of Oblivion, Morrowind
and Fallout) with regard to Bethesda’s plans for 2007 and beyond, he
told us; "We started work (on Fallout 3) in late 2004 with a few
people. We only had about 10 people on it until Oblivion wrapped, but
most of our staff is on it now." Is it wishful thinking that Fallout 3
will eventually be released on Microsoft’s next-gen machine? With the
game itself utilising the same Gamebryo engine as Oblivion, perhaps
not. And promised to be as huge and open-ended as their multi-award
winning 2006 effort, demand for Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360 would be huge.</em></p><p><em> "We have pretty long preproduction phases on our stuff," continues
Howard "doing concepts, design, building prototypes, and such. We
should be ready soon to show it off, but we’ll see."</em></p><em><strong> For more details and the full interview with Bethesda, check out
issue 18 of the Official Xbox 360 Magazine, on sale from the 15th of
February.</strong></em></blockquote>

</p><p>While I don't have the prevailing degree of pessimism that is running rampant through the community about the potential for DAC, NMA, and the PC gaming community to be passed over for the 360 community, stuff like this doesn't help.</p><p> </p><p>And to reiterate a previous statement:
If the first concrete details about Fallout 3 appear in an Xbox magazine, and not on DAC or NMA, I predict armageddon.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks <strong>Kharn</strong>! </p>

ESF morons keep stealing my damned Yahoo accounts.
Oh bugger.
Damn, I was hoping that there would be a Mac-release also, but seems like it's going to be a PC/Xbox-release. Shit.
I'm only hoping (realistic view) that they will make a Fallout 3 by Bethesda (Beth + Fallout ). Not a Oblivion + Fallout = Fallout 3. It's not going to be a Fallout-Fallot game, but as a realistic view I hope they will actually make a Bethesda GAME, not a Oblivion Game.
Basically. ..let's hope they will Forget Oblivion (as a game)...still it's not going to be a Fallout-Fallout game...

I'm a huge fan of the original Fallout and it's been a long time since the latest Fallout game, so I hope they just get it done. I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I don't mind if it's 3d and real-time as long as we get a new Fallout!
There. It's been written. Not a single Fallout 3 thread without that comment.

The worst part is going to be all the noobs that (completely unaware of FO:1 & 2) claims they know more about the history of fallout than anyone of you guys, because they accidently bought a 360 with a free copy of FO:3.
Yes there is going to be a Xbox360 + FO:3 bundle discount offer because games that makes "oral vaccum on donkey droppings" tends to become "bundle-offers"

I think we need to face the fact that it will be Oblivion with guns. If Oblivion did so well, why the hell would they mess with that?
Obviously the setting and story will be different, but expect the same gameplay. Oblivion is an XBox game. Fallout 3 will be an XBox game. The only reason they haven't confirmed it for XBox is so they can give the appearance of Fallout 3 being made for the PC but its an XBox game. It will be made for 15year olds.
And by the way, I think the first concrete details were already announced in the XBox magazine. Why aren't we getting any exclusive interviews?
From Bethesda's point of view, I am pretty sure there is more money and praise to be had from catering to Oblivion fans, rather than the Fallout community.

Wich is actually a very reasonable thing to do. There is alot of money involved in making computer games, and both you and me would want to sell as much as possible to make a profit and stay in the buisness.Dogmeatlives wrote:From Bethesda's point of view, I am pretty sure there is more money and praise to be had from catering to Oblivion fans, rather than the Fallout community.
However, large profit doesnt always make it a good product IMO.
