As someone that has wore armor in a combat zone ......

Nice idea, but how bulky is it

How much does it limit range of motion

Does it subtract your preception stat

Does the shit work against IEDs

Is teh guy willing to stand next to an arty shell and hit teh red button with that stuff on ?

I wouldn't doubt it; the bloke sat for ten minutes with a blowtorch inches from his face with nothing more than an inch or so of his fire-retardant paste between his face and the flame. And that's the least of the hardcore shit that I've seen on the videos.
I sppose that Iit would get rather steamy in it under the iraqi sun.
Apparently, there's an air-conditioning system inside the helmet.
"When conversing about oligarchy, you must consider this point: Many children are taught from an early age that monarchies are primarily benevolent, and are given very little to discourage this opinion until at least adolesence. Even more prevalent are stories about the supposed benevolence of heirs to the throne, symbolising a cycle which they are taught is good."

Wow, he looks like Smoke! Or a high-tech power armor!
Bring your daughter... to the Slaughter of Manslaught.

The main change Id like to see is with the armored gloves.

Protect the fingers somehow, preferble, have armored 'fingers' that are open in the inside so you can get some protection still, but you can fold them back when needing dexterity.

Mortal Kombat's Smoke? Like the 'buddy' of Cyrax and Sektor?

Is that Mortal Kombat or some gay looking star wars mod ?

Damn, that game has gone downhill since it first came out.

It's MK Armageddon.

Armageddon does what MK Trilogy did:

Round up all charakters from all previous MK games and let them slaughter each other.

It also features a character creatoion system, where you can create your own fighter and add own fatalities and shit.
Also, weapons have become mandatory, so they gave Sektor those ugly light sabres.

But I agree: Nothing tops MK 1!

Yeah, I remember christmas at my grandparents many years agoand I got MK1 for my nintendo.

I spent the next few hours beating it.

I'd rather want to see your grandparents face expressions when they see MK on their TV screen.

"...look G-Pa, when I press down and hard punch, I fuck this guy's teeth out with an uppercut"

"Oh my! That's not nice!"

"I know, G-Pa, but after I fuck him up, I'm gonna press F, D, F, HP and rip his spine out together with his head!"

Let's see, if this thing works and it could be mass-produced for 2000 bucks per piece... it still wouldn't catch on.

If armies around the world don't think that soldiers are worth the 500 dollars kevlar vests, they won't be buying these either. Especially when considering the down-sides of wearing almost 20 kilos of extra weight on you, limiting your agility etc.

I still think nuking the enemy is the best personal protection.

Best protection is to avoid conflict whatsoever D:

Hell, the new ACH (the new model combat helmet) costs 500 alone.

Yea, this is just full body armor with some gadgets. Power Armour is a self contained suit. It has life support and motion assist motors in the joints. This suit has a couple electronic accessories that aren't really needed for the suit to work.

It's still cool, but it would probably need a makeover if it was to be used by the military. The value is in it's materials.

I would imagine that if the army wants a suit like that they will buy the
canadian guy out and invest millions of dollars in research and dev.
However, i think the suit would be quite awesome if used in riot control.
Simply because you have, say, 150 robo-cop guys, standing in line, they
look identical, all wear identical suits, and the voice-box thing makes them
talk identical. It is simple shock-and-awe that will subdue the riot, not the
bashing of hippie-heads. :drunk:

This armors still a good thing, I imagine we'll have something like this (or the FO combat armor) in actual use within 10 or 15 years at most.

As for scaring rioters into stopping, I doubt it.

The mob mentality involves too LITTLE thinking, which is what it'd take to get scared.
