teh funnyMr. Teatime wrote:(and I'm reasonably sure that the game won't have a thong-wearing hooker on the front of the box at least, so that's one fear that could be calmed).
i think it's interesting that a bethesda guy claims that he actually reads the stuff here
thats somehow... encouraging...
but could be hype
if he is lying, i will kill him
(yes i will)
i could add the chainsaw smiley 6 times now, but that would make me look like a 11 year old.
what did i want to say..
Fallout is the best (and i played MAAANNNYYYY games :<, i m a fucking nerd... new games bore me to death, they all suck, they r buggy, have a SHIT story, they r just crap... it's like they ve never actually played their own game, else they would have seen how crap it is and would have changed that... it's all about GRAPHIC GRAPHIC GRAPHIC "3d IS TEH PWNZ0R MY NVIDIA CARD IS TEH BEST RLY!!!111"
i think i drifted away from what i wanted to say...
however... bethesda seem to care much about graphics too, thats a bad sign, as well as they want to change stuff in fallout 3, and obviously they got no humour wtf.... or they dont want to include humour... thats just rubbish... well back to the topic)
Fallout 2 is good, too, but the beginning of it is crap, somehow... but i liked many parts of it, like that nuclear power plant with the ghouls...
well, i ll have to play that game again
too bad i cant order it anywhere, i would buy the original (copy) of the game, but no one sells it..
(at least amazon doesnt, and i m too lazy to search at other shops :<)
what i wanted to say is
i forgot what i wanted to say
first post btw.
good night
ps:
@bethesda, DONT DO SHIT WITH FALLOUT3 *sharpenshisknife*
Amazon and ebay both have FO and FO2.
I wouldnt be suprised if bethesda people read this fourm, but they truly dont care about the fans.
Their fucked up console game Startrek:Legacy shows how little they care about quality of their games.
So does oblivion.
I just cant wait til I can buy armor for my bhraman.

What is it with you people and threatening developers? It's childish and very un-Fallout fanbase-esque. Threatening to kill devs is teh stupidKukident wrote:if he is lying, i will kill him

Shit, man, I don't think we ever threatened to kill Chuck Cuevas. Then again, we mostly pitied him.

Does anyone else think that no matter how good Fallout 3 *could* turn out to be, we might just assume it sucks, simply because well... we've gotten older and our tastes and standards have become unreachable?
A mature rating is a must.
Still, Fallout 3 is the only game i'm looking forward to now, as i've already given up on C&C 3 (AKA LOLZ WOULDNT IT BE COOL TO INTRODUCE SOME INSECT LIKE PURPLE ALIENS ITS SO ORIGINAL)

Not really. There were no dev-posts for a year until Kathode just admitted to buying one of our member's old copies of Fallout 1 & 2 over eBay.The Idiot wrote:Isn't NMA, like, blacklisted?
Otherwise NMA staff aren't banned from the ESF and there are still private convos, so it's not really a blacklisting.
Poppycock. Our tastes just aren't catered to. There's a difference.Reply with quoteBack to top

How have our standards become unreachable? We're not asking for Rome to be built in one day, just some very simple stuffs.Does anyone else think that no matter how good Fallout 3 *could* turn out to be, we might just assume it sucks, simply because well... we've gotten older and our tastes and standards have become unreachable

not to forget a about PEW PEW LASERGUNZInfinity Dose wrote: Still, Fallout 3 is the only game i'm looking forward to now, as i've already given up on C&C 3 (AKA LOLZ WOULDNT IT BE COOL TO INTRODUCE SOME INSECT LIKE PURPLE ALIENS ITS SO ORIGINAL)
show me a C&C3 screen without like 200 green, blue and red lasers on it..
right, there are none...
i m looking forward to stalker, hellgate:london ( a must-buy for me), supreme commander (not perfect but good, i will probably play it very often, but not as often as i played warcraft 3 for example...) and bioshock 2 (fucking great story... but i think they are poromising more than they will actually do..)
i will probably buy fallout 3... play it.. have fun.. but i cant imagine in any way that it will have the good atmosphere, story, fun and freedom FO1 and 2 had... completly different developers developing that game, they cannot like turn into different people while making that game, they are still the developers of games like oblivion, and you will probably feel that while playing FO3, and it will probably annoy us all...
talking about devs
so i am not fallout fanbase-esque or what? What is it with you people and threatening developers? It's childish and very un-Fallout fanbase-esque. Threatening to kill devs is teh stupid
Shit, man, I don't think we ever threatened to kill Chuck Cuevas. Then again, we mostly pitied him.
just becoz of that little comment?
what would be fallout-esque concerning the topic "hate against devs" then?
feeding them with stimpacks?

It has nothing to do with being part of the Fallout fanbase. It has everything to do with sounding childish, immature, and ignorant.Kukident wrote:so i am not fallout fanbase-esque or what? What is it with you people and threatening developers? Did Chuck leave the business after BOS?
Most of the discussion over the years has concentrated on a few key game design issues which soon has degenerated into a comparison between two systems(Fallout vs. generic RPG). Nothing is absolute in terms of game design choices, but I think anyone who've followed this forum for the past years knows what the general consensus among the fans is. Perhaps this has blinded the fanbase to some extent. I'm not saying Fallout 3 should be something entirely different from what we expect from a Fallout sequel, but it can't and shouldn't be the same game that was released 10 years ago.
What I hope is that Fallout 3 will be something entirely different from modern CRPGs, even(or should I write especially) Bethesda's own games. It should feel refreshing to those as well who haven't touched another CRPG since Fallout(hypothetically speaking).
"We do what we do best" - I truly hope that means innovation, and this time, also combined with experience.
Some might say using 'archaic' design concepts can be innovative, but even in the most archaic of systems improvements can be achieved. However, in some ways the original Fallout set the framework of how a Fallout game should play.
Then there is the communication issue. Healthy communication with the fanbase is not writing down every fan demand and making a game in accordance with those demands. Healthy communication is mutual trust and goodwill between the developer/publisher and the fanbase. Fans should be used as a source of inspiration. After the game is released, the fans should be considered as a source of criticism, often more reliable than the gaming press. This ensures continuity in the most important relationship a game company can have.
The Van Buren approach was wrong. "Hay guys, what do you think about this idea we've been discussing?" is a path that leads to doom because the end product cannot possibly exceed the expectations, much like too early or excessive hype. In this sense, I'd rather see one-way communication than an open development forum. The worst event imaginable is when a developer blackballs a game's fanbase. Luckily Bethesda has managed to keep OK relations with the major Fallout fansites, but reading about disputes with RPG Codex and Star Trek gamers worries me. Is this really the way Bethesda wants to build and develop its brands?
That said, I expect Bethesda to restore relations with these once lost communities and cherish the ones it still hasn't scared away. When or what info it will release about Fallout 3 is ultimately irrelevant.
This pretty much summed the article for me.Glittering Gems o' Hatred part 3 wrote:Fallout 3 should offer something we haven't seen in the CRPG world for years, something nobody else is doing. In taking a step back, it would make a leap forward.
