Indiana Jones - Fate of Atlantis

If you don't know the game, don't bother reading this...

Every single time I've played this game, from the day I got it over ten years ago, I get stumped, again and again at the same point.

The damn three discs.

The game is set up so things change every time you play, and stuff gets "random".

So are these disks, and the description that gives clues how to align them.
Everytime I get a wrong description, and I end up turning them at random, and hoping of getting the right combination.

But I've searched to see if anyone else is getting a false translation, and I haven't found a single case of it.

The text says "Darkness rules the City without Challenge".
I understand that as aligning "darkness" and "city" with the horns up top, and leaving the moon disk on an empty slot.
To be sure, I've tried all the combinations of the moons, and empty slots.

Then there is a clue in the background, with three doors, showing "waxing moon", "noon sun" and some kind of circle, which god only knows what represents.. so I've tried the combo of the first two, and every symbol on the worldstone.

Does anyone know what the fuck is going on?
If noone has any ideas, I guess I'm stuck turning until it magically opens.
(I'm in the Crete part, right after the labyrinth).

Yeah. Fortunately dosbox fixes the sound. I was afraid I was going to have to play without sound =(

Again megatron, a thousand thanks for the link. I would never have figured out how it's supposed to be solved, and inevitably I would've been stuck trying all solutions.

Despite how short the game feels when you can still remember all the solutions to the puzzles (the damn stones being the exception), I still think it's an amazing game.

I think I'll revisit Grim Fandango next. Full throttle is still too fresh in my mind.

Wow, can't get/don't have a copy of the original?
I've got it along with a bunch of others. Monkey Island being one of them.
Gotta love the Dial-A-Pirate.

no no no. DON'T you use dosbox with old lucasgames/film games. Use this only: scummVM - it gives you so much more.
(try different video options to see which one you like best)

@MFG

It *is* the original. I have the original last crusade as well as other lucas arts adventure games.

I completely misunderstood PiP..
I've just tried it out and I gotta say it's a hell of a lot easier to use, and a lot better.

The SuperSai smudged out version is way cool.

Thanks.

Speaking about Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Dark Horse released a four-part comic series right prior to the game. It was a nice read. If you're interested, I could make them available or something. It was nice to see how Dark Horse tried to make the comic like the game was going to be. :chew:
