there won't be any ground invasion of iran, unless US soldiers are ready to accept vietnam era casualty rates, even if the pentagoon unleashes some tactical nukes on iran.

as far as air invasion, it's still too dangerous, iran can sink a few warships and maybe a carrier, according to a lot of US generals and military leaders "all war game simulations have ended undesirably" i'm paraphrasing but that's what i read.

but really isn't this movie "300" analogous to US imperial projection on the world? now, the US is the old persian empire, and the iraqis are the outnumbered greeks at thermopolye (the insurgents who attack americans solely don't number beyond 10,000 vs. 140,000 + US and coalition troops stationed in Iraq)

also everyone knows Persia went downhill after Cyrus the Great. after Alexander left Persia weakened, the arabs invaded bringing the plague of Islam.

Xerxes was an expansionist idiot, sort of like Bush.

I saw the comic version of 300, i loled at all the greeks and persians who looked african? maybe they were slave warriors from africa i.d.k.

prussia and persia are different things, but the word Aryan is based on a persian sanskirt word i think, and Iran means literally "the land of aryans" i.e. indo european plateu people, scythians etc.

i wonder how many dumb nazi skinheads know that when they're calling themselves "The Aryan Super Race" they're actually saying they're Iranian xD

huh? the byzantine empire didnt appear until hundreds of years after the birth of christ. alexander the great lived in the fourth century BC, which would make him predate that by another several hundred years. also, the persian wars predate alexander by another several hundred years

I think that americans will let Iran be attacked in single air strike by Israel like Iraq was when Saddam was building atomic bomb. They would have a massive number of casulties if they would do a full scale invasion.
I think that too few people know that Persans are arian, moust of them (especialy in US) think of them as Arabs.

The specialist planners and analysts are not.

There is a difference between "RealFact" and "GoodFact".

"GoodFact" is what is necessary to be believed in order to support a dogma system.

The Leadership runs on GoodFact, not RealFact.

Planners and analysts are aware of this, but can't do much about it.

If Israel knows how to deal with Hizbollah then why do they continue to flourish as one of the largest organizations there are opposing the Israeli government? Seems very well handled if you ask me. If you enjoy suicide bombings and angry men with Kalashnikovs sitting on your doorstep.

bear in mind that that 2 billion dollars is not given in quarterly installments, as is the case with every other nation who benefits by our incredible magnanimity (read: stupidity). we give it to the israelis in one big, lumpy, tax-free installment and, in another unprecedented move, dont require them to spend it on american technologies, but allow them to spend it on their own defense industry.

all that hard to swallow bullshit aside, please also consider for a moment why we would even give them 2 billion dollars a year at all - theyre a modern industrialized nation on par with most of europe, and are quite capable of subjugating their neighbors and upholding their apartheid state without our help

It's been sold out at most of the times and my friends don't have any organizational skills to take my advice and buy some tickets in advance before they sell out. Seriously if all the previous shows have been selling out way before they actually start don't you think it's a smart thing to anticipate the other times will too? Anyways I don't know when I will see it now becuase I waited all day just to go with my stupid friends when I should of just went early with my dad whom knows what happens when you go to the shows late.
